I'm looking for a quality mechanic for my son to take his 07 FJ Cruiser to have some work done. He is in school at UNCW and I don't know of any mechanics in that area. He has all of his dashboard lights lit up so we need to determine what is going on.

I didn't really find a great shop while I lived down there. Black's tire (on Market) was the only shop I went to for tires (for better or worse) and they were decent enough for a naive college kid.

I hate to ask as I see this post is 12 days old, but did you get him to check his battery (and consider swapping even if "good") by autozone, etc? I don't know of any automotive battery I have had that's lasted more than 4-5 yrs in NC. Electronic gremlins seem to be the first canary in the coal mine for batteries IME.

Check the alternator. When they go bad they sometimes turn all the lights on.
