Well, I cant leave things alone.
I bought a set of 1" strut spacers on Ebay for a Tundra, assuming they would fit my TLC struts. A 1" strut lift equates to 2" at the wheel. So, I went about getting them installed.
Now, keep in mind, that I already had the OE Toyota spacers purchased from Beno, which are approximately 3/8" thick, and for our purposes, we can say that I was already achieving ~1" of lift from using them. In order to install these aftermarket 1" Tundra spacers, I had to remove the OE spacers. Therefore, I should be expecting to get a total sum of 1" of additional lift from this modification. Hope that makes sense.
First thing I noticed, was that they were billet machined aluminum, powder coated, and came with Grade 8 hardware. Pretty impressive considering that I only paid $50 for the pair.
Unfortunately, they did in fact, NOT fit. Well, not until I got ahold of them with my angle grinder. I'll toot my own horn here too---just look at that nice grinding!
Once modified, I attached them to the struts
Will a lot of effort (a ton actually), I got them fitted
New stance (before I reset my camber with my SPC UCAs.
And yes, they boosted the front up two full inches! I did have to remove my OE strut spacers I had installed only a few months ago. I had also boosted up the preload on my Ironman lift a few months ago to get more lift; unfortunately, the ride quality suffered. So, now that I am 1" taller (over my previous OE spacers) I decided to take some of the pre-load off of my springs, so the truck dropped about an inch or so, but improved my ride quality. I can always add the preload back, if I want it to sit a bit higher.
I'll update this thread after driving a few months and getting a chance to flex and ensure I do not have any issues with these large spacers.
