Well, I cant leave things alone.

I bought a set of 1" strut spacers on Ebay for a Tundra, assuming they would fit my TLC struts. A 1" strut lift equates to 2" at the wheel. So, I went about getting them installed.

Now, keep in mind, that I already had the OE Toyota spacers purchased from Beno, which are approximately 3/8" thick, and for our purposes, we can say that I was already achieving ~1" of lift from using them. In order to install these aftermarket 1" Tundra spacers, I had to remove the OE spacers. Therefore, I should be expecting to get a total sum of 1" of additional lift from this modification. Hope that makes sense.

First thing I noticed, was that they were billet machined aluminum, powder coated, and came with Grade 8 hardware. Pretty impressive considering that I only paid $50 for the pair.

Unfortunately, they did in fact, NOT fit. Well, not until I got ahold of them with my angle grinder. I'll toot my own horn here too---just look at that nice grinding!

Once modified, I attached them to the struts

Will a lot of effort (a ton actually), I got them fitted

And yes, they boosted the front up two full inches! I did have to remove my OE strut spacers I had installed only a few months ago. I had also boosted up the preload on my Ironman lift a few months ago to get more lift; unfortunately, the ride quality suffered. So, now that I am 1" taller (over my previous OE spacers) I decided to take some of the pre-load off of my springs, so the truck dropped about an inch or so, but improved my ride quality. I can always add the preload back, if I want it to sit a bit higher.

I'll update this thread after driving a few months and getting a chance to flex and ensure I do not have any issues with these large spacers.

Nice, more lift! What is your hub/fender spacing now?

Your 35's look rather puny now, time to move up to 37's. :)

I'll have to measure, and then get back to you.

And yeah, I know what you are saying about the wimpy-ass 35's. :)

Do you want to sell your OE strut spacers?[/QUOTE

Sure.

Let me give these a try for a few weeks, and make sure there are no major drawbacks using them.

Only one way to find out. I'll be surprised if 1" will make a difference. Hope I'm right. :)

I miscalculated. I removed my OE spacers, so I have only added ~0.5" of material. (so not 1")

with that much lift, what do the cv angles look like?

With a diff drop, they look great:

Keep in mind, there's a 1" body lift, 2" from the spacers, and maybe 1-1.5" from the ironmans. So not as crazy high as you might think; 3.5" max, plus a diff drop keeps the CVs happy.

*theres grease on the boot because I had a torn boot and repacked the CV while I was replacing the boot.

looks good. I thought you were getting more from the ironmans, closer to 2.5 and stretching to 4.5 overall.
I'm still waiting on the elusive amir diff drop. running a Low Range Offroad drop for now. Keeps the axles happy.

amy's a beauty. great work.

I was getting more, but I took a bunch of preload out of my springs when the spacers went in.
