My uncle was telling me about the John Deeres, are they a direct plug-and-play with the stock lights?

Nearly. You have to cut off one tab. At least for the 1FZ's, I'd imagine the 3FE's are the same.

I don't know if I can handle that... :D

Yeah...same. The top tab is a bit tall and wide. I just use the grinder to grind it down and narrow it up a bit. Compare with your old 9006 for reference. Got mine through Candlepower...they're really nice to deal with and take Paypal online. They also seem to be more consistent with their stock levels compared to others.

I think the HIR is the simplest and best bang for your buck upgrade of the stock housing. If you really like the retro look of the GX headlights, then that's a different story.

Running HIR bulbs in my stock 97 FZJ Globes and they are a big improvement over stock. Best bang for the buck for sure.
But when I take a rock in one of em.. in go the GX headlamps, a harness/relay set up and 4x kick a$$
H4 bulbs like Tapage is running.

Like I said, post some pics :)

Didn't Tapage already post pics of his on the other page?

Well yeah but everyone likes to see everyone else's mods :)

What is the HIR bulb?

Hey Saliya,

Unless you are not in a terrible rush you might want to contact Dave at Japan4x4 and see if he can get you a pair since I have moved to the US.

There is a good chance that I would be going to Japan this fall, but that is like 6 months away!

Anyway, let me know if you have good luck with Dave.

GOOD LUCK!!

Wow.. those look WAY better on your LX than they did on the shelf in my garage!
I take it the Toyota grille was required to fit correctly?

thanks, I like the Retro look with Awesome lighting from the HELLA Lens / HID conversion, Yes the late style Toyota Grill was required, LEXUS Grill has a different curve on the top due to the Unique LX450 Headlights

Regards,

Saliya

Oh BABY. So they work with the Lexus grille then? I thought Lexus cruisers had different headlights to fit their grilles.

EDIT: Wait. Duh. :bang:

maybe 'll jump in...

On JDM, the corner light contain 1. parking lights 2. cornering lights that come on with blinkers when headlamps are on - to illuminate the corner you're turning into.

BTW, upgraded my headlamp to 90/100W... atleast its useful now :D

Cheers
