I have 275/70R17 with a -10 et and ~2" lift, and I get rubbing at times. I have not had to do a BMC, though.

I just put 285/70/17 17x8 -10 on my 4runner 20 minutes ago. Doesn’t look like a BMC will be needed. Just mud flap removal and maybe an inch off the front inside bumper corner and push the liner forward. Nowhere near as bad as I thought it might be.
