Hey guys,

brand new to the land cruiser scene. Today I just bought a 2000 lc for my wifes daily. I daily an 86 reg cab toy pickup and it doesn't cut it for the camping trips etc.

It has an ARB front bumper and a winch, plus a 5 year old OME 2.5" lift.(torsion bars/coils)

the shocks are dead….like really dead. Can you guys direct me in what to buy? I want something thats decent quality and keeping in mind that it will be used about 90% of the time on paved roads so not super aggressive.

Thanks

Iron Man has been getting good reviews for an economically priced kit.

I plan on adding Radflo's on my Cruiser's.

Radflo

Mine...probably go with 2.5" remote reservoir version.

Wife's rig 2.0" Emulsion Shock no lift.... family hauler.

Also consider adding step sliders if it is going to be wheeled. ;)

Autozone had the best prices, do a search for the pt#. They won't give you any additional travel but will work perfectly for on road and light offroad use.

2000UZJ has some used ones for sale on the cheap

x2 on Rad-Flo. Mine feel just right, but you will have to consider whether you want to spend that much on a 90% DD.

I put Billsteins on my 2001 several years ago and they are still great. BUT -- I remember that one inch lift was max for them. Check this before you pull the trigger.

I was reading that the OME lift doesn't change the suspension travel amounts…just changes the starting point of the travel…so therefore the oem replacement billies should work fine…

correct me if I am wrong?

It has the OME torsion bars and OME coils...

Did you get the Bilstein's installed yet? How do you like them?
Also how much lift are you running on your wife's Cruiser? I'm looking to do 1.5-2" with Bilstein's, but want to make sure they have enough travel. Thanks

Not the one your question was directed to, but I just installed Bilstein HDs all around and OME 865s and could not be happier. 21" up front and 22.25" in the rear (865s netted me 2" to start). YMMV. Still getting used to the rake (lowered the front for better ride/handling and have .5" more lift with the 865s than my 1.5" spacers), but it's growing on me.

Yup put em in a few weeks ago, They're a big improvement over what was there

I bought the truck with the OME 865's(pretty sure) already installed(5 years old) so I'm not sure how much lift it gave it..

That's the same setup I'm going with. So the 865's ride ok? I was loaded down last weekend, all stock with 285's and the rear sags waaay more than I want. My only concern is the stiffer ride w/ the stiffer coils that add a little lift. Any issues?
I assume the Bilstein's help with ride quality that will offset any additional stiffness, just not sure.
I'm leaning towards leaving the stock torsion bars for now. I can get slight lift and with no heavy bumper/winch I'll keep the cushy stock ride. Thoughts??

Looks good IMO. Are you still on the stock torsions? Can you do me a favor and measure your roof height(less rack)? I want to eventually ditch my AHC and get a OME lift but need to know my limits to my garage. Thanks

Stock torsion bars as I have zero additional weight up front. I'll try to get you a measurement with and without the factory roof rails. Check out this thread for a few modification-height references: https://forum.ih8mud.com/100-series-cruisers/588770-cruiser-heights.html
