Just in stalled the Kaymar a few months ago. I figured the old plastic wasn't worth saving, so I sent it off with in the recycle tub.
The Kaymar fits great, but the spare tire hold open could use a little redesign.
I've had great luck with it fending off Boston Cab's

Pics are required but may need their own thread. :D

Go the ARB route thru Slee so he can do some reverse engineering and you can do a product review for the board while still supporting a board sponsor.

Good idea ...Hmmm...I wonder if there is a DISCOUNT involved if I give an unfavorable review of the ARB.. ;)

I do like the fact that you can customize the ARB to your specific needs, I.E. you can opt to carry two 33" spares, or a single 33" (or 35") and a jerry can holder ... I wonder what the built-in hitch is rated for (if its rated)?

I still think the ARB looks a little Hokey though.... :frown:

We will be selling the ARB as well. We have some on order and should have it somewhere in December. It is a different market than ours. It is modular and things can be added. However if equiped the same, they are about the same price.

Correct me if I'm wrong......that ARB rear bumper is HUGE. While it might be great for expo wheeling it's not for difficult 4-wheeling? I'm going by the pictures. Isn't your Slee better suited for that?

The ARB 4Runner at SEMA was sporting an ARB roof rack. Will they be shipping these again? If so, where are the racks for the Land Cruisers!

sigh. *I* actually backed our LC into the wife's car. Cruiser's completely unscathed. The bimmer, alas, is not.

I also have the OEM front bumper with fog lights from my 98 LC My LC is dark green, the bumper is a dark gray/flat black color. I have the sub frame also, its all avaliable to a good home.

ARB has been stocking the roof racks for about 4 months. However the one on the 4Runner was a customized unit.

Okay, looks like I am going to get about $1K after $500 deductible. So its down to the TJM or Kaymar. I am leaning towards the TJM for $940 shipped. Its modular design allows you to add spindles later and comes stock with rear built in lights. The Kaymar is nice as it has a built in Receiver hitch so I could 86 my current receiver and sell for $50.00.

Any thoughts.

Or I could return it to stock doing some of the work myself and come out right at the 1K. The bumper is going to eat up most of my insurance money so I will have to come out of pocket for the tail light assemblies ($200) and the body work on the tailgagte ($500).

No point in going back to stock. I like the TJM's integrated Hi-Lift points.
