Hello everybody!

I just registered but I have been reading through the threads almost daily since I bought my LC in May this year.

I should have read it before the purchase :))

It’s a completely stock UZJ from 99’ with a decent service record up to 2020 and 270.000 kilometers on the clock. AHC, automatic AC and rear locker. I think it has never been in a low range because I almost couldn’t move the stick and both locker actuators are not very cooperative.

It has some rust but being in Europe it’s still in pretty good shape in comparison to other rotten pieces.

It has some classic issues I found here in the forum like
- strange acting HVAC
- cracked header
- dead bushings
- wobbly steering/ vibrations above 120 kph
- loose spark plugs which I fixed

but still love driving it.

I plan to get it in a good shape and start discovering the old continent with the family.

Feel free to follow the journey on the IG:
Cruiser100_CZ

But I’ll keep updating it here too because I love the fact that the forum is alive. Unlike most of the forums I knew before FB.

Cheers

Michal

Legally almost zero. This is unfortunately the same for most of the EU countries. You can go north to Norway or Scotland for example or east to Albania, Romania etc. all provide nice views and you can go through most of the country off road.
Looks real comfortable in the setting of that picture, that's for sure.

Welcome! Which area in CZ are you in?

Sweet! Have been in that area quite a few times like 10 years ago to visit Prettl and Denso and combined it with visits in Mlada Boleslav ;-)
Have fun and enjoy your 100!

--> PM ;-)

Looks like a nice piece of cruiser you have there. Wish my 2004 looked as good.
Looking forward to see how you handle rust issues.
For the hvac problems, the cheapest fault is a misplaced temp sensor, or the hose to it, behind the tiny grille next to your right knee.
Second thing I would check is that the servos work as intended, as they can wear out mechanically.

Thanks for the tips, I already have a new sensor prepared just in case.

HVAC issue is following: blower direction set to manual, fan speed set manual but when I crank the temperature down to minimum fan speed increases anyway 🤷🏻‍♂️

Another issue is its blowing warm just on the last two temp positions +-. But that goes to the interior temp sensor I guess.
