So The amount of information that has come on the scene for this truck is great, but I also feel like I am missing something. (just one person's opinion lol)
I am looking for a shock that has control of both rebound and damper. King, fox, icon, Dobs, OMU, all told me they do not offer a 2-way adjustable shock. Does anyone make a shock that has both of these adjustments?
What I was hoping for was a Coilover in the front so I could adjust if I changed my mind or what ever, and rear spring or maybe a shim, and rear shocks. 80% of what I do is on the road and the rest is not insane off-road, but I like to go to the sierras and do some overland camping, so not looking to have some Baja suspension, just something to offer a better ride and better performance both on and off road. And I trailer sometimes
thanks in advance and sorry if I am the 1 millionth person to ask, I did a search and didn't find anything

Talk to Kyle Fogle at Treaty Oak Offroad. Dobinsons has 3-way adjustable shocks for the GX that have just hit the market. MRAs.

That being said, the OME BP-51s also have 2-way adjustment (rebound and damper). But they will be more expensive than the Dobinsons, and you won't get the same level of customer service that Kyle will give you.

Sooooooo the MRA is coming, hoping for a fall release. These bad boys have 3 way adjusters! High speed and low speed compression, and rebound adjustment.

I have a preproduction set installed on my GX470, had them for a little over a month...and theyyyy are pretty damn impressive.

They’ll be in the $2400 range. Keep an eye on my website and social media, I’ll be VERY loud when they’re ready to preorder.

Really like what you got there. But to be honest, my wife and I are happy as clams with the Icon remote resevior setup I have for my GX overlander. If I had to press the point, I could probably do with a little more stiffness on compression to avoid hitting the stops.
So I'm assuming the $2400 is a set of 4, one for each corner?
When my present setup gets tired, I may very well look into these shocks!

The best were the Rancho 9000 air adjustable shocks I had on my first overlander, a monster F350 crewcab 4x4 (3 air compressors, dual batteries, 15,000 winch, 37" tires, yada, yada, yada...). It was nice being able to adjust while driving the stiffness. It had a small compressor just for the shocks. Just press the button and I could adjust either the front or rear independently from a very soft ride for off roading to a firm ride for paved twisty mountain roads.

I really wish Dobinson's would include vehicle-specific brackets with their reservoirs. Right now it seems like everyone has to ghetto-rig the mounting locations. I'm personally waiting for the Toytec/Elka Aluma kit to be released that has mounting brackets which work w/ KDSS.

So I here what I wish (since we are making wishes) 2 way non-remote shock that would replace as an upgrade to the factory shock.

King’s have vehicle specific reservoir mounting bracket.

These shocks look really nice! Did they have hard chromed shaft? Are the housing aluminum or steel? Anyone has any more details?

vehicle specific brackets are in the works

steel shock body, aluminum reservoir

chrome shaft

56mm diameter body for 120/150
66mm diameter body for 80/100/200

aluminum piston

all natural rubber bushes

Just curious what seals are used on these shocks, viton?

Forgot to ask what material is the piston rod? carbon steel or stainless steel? What's the rockwell hardness it supposedly has?

Something many people (Myself included) are unaware of with some of the high end shocks is the maintenance schedule. You need to pull them off and open them up to check the bushings and change the shock oil every 10K miles or every year depending on how much you drive. The benefits of the shocks are very obvious but if you plan on them lasting you need to service these regularly.

I’ll have to ask dobinsons, I’d assume it’s the same hardness as the mrr as these are essentially the new version...but never had anyone ask.

Driving style dictates maintenance, for a lot of people you’ll never have to service these. I was 40k+ into my original MRR’s when I pulled em for these and they weren’t even close to needing maintenance
