NotHiLandr stated he was trading his in on a new Range Rover....so that might be his old one. Nice rig.

Very nice rig! Can't understand why they would go with a LR.

I called the dealer this morning. I was told that the LC has never been offroad, and was modded only for show. I almost choked. asking price...drum roll...44k!

Why would anyone pay $44k for a 200 with close to 90k miles on it when you could pay around half that amount for a 2004/05 100 series with around the same mileage? Crazy!

I'm on the fence about the "upgrade cost" of a 100 vs 200. I know it's been covered to death. I suppose I could be the dealer up over the fact that the LC has been used as a proper trail rig. I've talked to him and he's willing to sell at 39k and change.

contact nothilandr, it was his. I spoke with him a little bit about the vehicle. Atleast you will get the truth about the vehicle because I highly doubt it was just built for show.

I paid 39,500 for mine with no gear in March. Mine was very clean and very well maintained. I have spent a little on maintenance items, however. Don't know much about this rig, but sounds like a decent buy...

Keep in mind it also has:
ARB front bumper (~$2000)
ARB rear bumper (~$2000 with cover plates)
ARB front and rear lockers and compressor (~$3000-3500 installed)
OME suspension (~$1000)
Wheels and Goodyear Duratracs (~$2000)

I did a brief search for NotHiLandr! posts, the rig has been wheeled quite a bit. Contacting him is a good idea. I'd like to know what issues there are with the truck. Maybe someone could use that info to get a better price.

Since when did aftermarket work ever factor in resale value?

True. When I was in the market for my 100 series the built trucks were definitely not bringing a premium. Most people probably see the trail gear and assume its been ridden hard.

I've been under the impression that bumpers and add-ons could be added to the price of a used vehicle but essentially at 50% off. Pretty standard thinking during my time on MUD.

Why get a 200 over a 100? It is clearly a personal decision, just like everything else on this entire board. I choose the 200 bc it has a stronger engine (tows better), was more comfortable to me to ride in, mine only had 25K miles, I looked at 100's and thought the price was too high for high mileage vehicles.

I already have a built 80 series for expedition exploring and a buggy for getting nasty in the rocks. I choose the next iteration of Land Cruiser (200), so that when it is over ten years old, it would be ready to replace my 80 in it's duties. For now my wife is "Cruising" in it with the kids and the third row is great. I've been driving it this week and it is awesome!! Way better than my Tundra, I wish it was my daily driver.

looks like its sold but i think 39k would have been a fair price given it has at least 10k worth of upgrades (not that that makes any difference, yeah right!)

It has been upgraded so it can go off road and have the crap beat out of, which it had done plus the mileage is high. Most would want a lower mileage mall cruiser for that amount.

It was mine and now it has a new home with a fellow inmate.
