Does anyone know who makes this roof rack? I see CON in the picture but couldn't make out anything else and when I googled nothing came up.

Thanks

Gobi

Gobi makes it. Have one on my LC. The rack is nice and does everything that I need it to do. However, if I were buying a rack today, I would go with the Gamiviti.

I would be torn between Gamiviti and Dissent. Gamiviti is local to me in Denver I believe and will work with you to produce exactly what you desire. The Dissent is just a very different look and is quite light in weight.

I have the Gobi rack on my Cruiser. It is functional and looking good. I believe that it is about 4-5 years old.

One reason the Gobi looks so good is it follows the contour of the roof... which is awesome for aesthetics but can be a hindrance for stowing long flat things like a RTT, panel goods etc. Gamiviti makes a killer rack, and while I love Ben's work and it is top notch, the Dissent rack doesn't do it for me aesthetically... both are awesome products.

Gobi looks neat. But, they aren't a Mud Supporter and have a pretty bad rep about leveraging their patents (like Specialized in the bicycle industry). I have a Gamiviti and it's simply amazing. Highly recommended as Tim @nakman (Gamiviti) is a really great guy and a big supporter of Mud AND Hundred in the Hills. His rack follows the lines very nicely and is one of the most functional racks I've ever used.

Ditto!

Hey Guys, i was about to pull the trigger on a Gobi rack tomorrow after weeks of research i kept going between the Gobi, Front Runner and Gamiviti... Right now Gobi is giving away a free ladder, free shipping, a free wind screen and two free adjustable cross bars. My plan is to get a roof top tent eventually and this thread has me questioning my potential purchase (which i am very happy to learn about). Does the curve really not allow the roof top tent to sit correctly? i called Gobi today and they told me they work just fine, but i would like to hear your experience first! ALSO, do the Gamiviti Racks turn upside down where one side is flat, and the other has a rack support bar? It looks like in some photos the rack is upside down? i would love to know why you guys say "even tho i have a Gobi now, if i were buying one today.. i would buy a Gamiviti." What are the reasons for that? Thank you in advance!

I think that the Gamiviti is the more versatile product. Couple that with the fact that Gobi's customer service leaves a lot to be desired, I would go with the Gamiviti. And it will be months before you ever see it.

My quick 2 cents. I specifically wanted to support a vendor of Mud, which pushed my towards my Gamiviti. I was also strongly considering the new dissent off-road rack, which just looks so killer. I ultimately went with Gamiviti because I like the tube style and he is local and I like supporting local companies. I was able to drive up there and he helped me install it on a cold December morning. The Mud community is amazing and supporting it will help keep it being amazing.

I've seen Gamiviti and Gobi products in person. If price difference is negligible, the quality and small details of Gamiviti is greater.

This info is really helpful! I feel bad for high jacking this thread. Spending this amount on a rack when I could get an ARB for $700 ... I guess I get a bit nervous to make sure I get the best for the money lol

Tim is awesome guy
if you met him for two minutes you would buy a Gamiviti
huge supporter of the local club and helps quite a bit to keep trails open
I personally do not have one of his racks but would buy it in a heart beat if I were in the market for one

i have had many of his other products for my 80,100,and my 40
all are top notch !
