I'm just curious .. we've all seen how the bar has been rising on the 80's. Four to six inch suspensions, 37's .. half decent flex. How far have the 100's come??

If I ever move to a 100, honestly, I'd probably just have it shipped to Slee's and have them build the hell out of it! Then I'd grab a grande soy, single pump sugarfree hazelnut, extra wet, extra hot, no foam latte, and head up North again ..

For pure out of the box thinking, I'd go with Podvin's Lex Buggy.

For rock crawling, Drexx out west.

For cool factor and style--Macneill (what else would one expect!).

;)

[ this excludes any mention of the ridiculously awesome and oh so perfect 105's which we do not get here in the states. If those were included in this survey, I would say any Oz 105 rules the roost. ]

I remember Drexx having Hannah build his 80, but I didn't know he had a 100 in his stable .. I better use the search.

Drexx has a sweet black 100, but it's built more for touring. His bro-in-law Amando (i4c4lo on this forum) has the more extreme 100. He and the 100 did the entire Rubicon with us in `05, from Gatekeeper (before it was blasted) to Observation Point. As far as we know it was the first 100 to traverse the entire trail.

With his custom bumpers and 35" mudders, it is without doubt the meanest 100 I've ever seen. It's what mine wants to be when it grows up.

You're totally right Derek...that's who I was thinking of....Amando.

That is a bad azzz 100 series.

I tried finding pic's of i4c4lo's 100, and couldn't so far. The pics he posted in the 100 pics thread don't show up here, and his site is under construction, and the link to another site he has seems to hold no images as well....

It would make this thread a great sticky if there were pic's of all of the top modified 100 series LC/LX's.

Well it might be nice to see a thread somewhere, sometime that highlights just how extreme you can push the 100 series. Kinda of a pain digging thru 350 posts in the picture thread to get there.

Agree on a few of the top built 100's, and then highlight the mods, vendors, expenses and performance values.

What are ya waiting for??? Christmas???? :flipoff2:

Peace,

TY

PS: I'll be back in 5 hrs EST .. ;p

Thanks Beno! :o I was gonna vote for Sin or Shotts or Bull or actually you know what... we have a lot of great modded 100s now.

It's great to see so many international ones too.

I'm really just a poser... ;p

Here is a photo of I4C4LO at Rubicon. The meanest?

Not only that, I4C4LO's driver is the skillest 100 series driver, bar none.

Cheers,

BTW, this 35" MTR was borrowed from mine for Rubicon run so I have the meanest wheelies on my "not so mean" 100 series. :D

If you go to Snook's site, you can see the video of this historic run, including said 100 Series in action! (In the 2005 section, "Rubicon - NorCal" video.)

Sincity, Shotts and Macneills are among my most favorite landcruisers stateside. There are several others on here I love too.

For the LX's i think im going to have to go with Slee's white LX470 they did up for that canadian run. Im also going to have to say i really like XLR81T's LX470(i forget if your on here) and mine no doubt, haha!

Of course, just about any Landcruiser/LX470 i see makes me smile, and when i see it has been modified and that the owner takes care and interest in the vehicle i just love to see it.

Cool videos, but I am not sure on the meaning of the music when the 100 is on the screen - either that is one mean 100 or that is one skilled pilot! It appears to be one of the smoothest of the bunch, next to the beige 40 - wow, that thing rocks - hmmm.

Ha, you must be referring to my Kane Creek Video at Moab 2006. The owner of this 100 with odd background music (Celin Doine??, his favorite) is DieselBigot, who is also a well skilled & veteran driver with his others rigs like FJ70, FJ60 & 4runner but just a little tad green on his latest rig, a 100 series for the time being. See his photo of his rig. :D

Dclee is referring to our Rubicon 2005 video where IC4LO crossed the Rubicon trail from west to east, the first 100 series to crossed successfully to our knowledge.

Few days later, two other 100 series (a company-owned) was supporting the FJ Crusiers to cross Rubicon Trail for Toyota marketing shooting and unlike IC4LO's, both 100 rigs's body were badly trashed up.

Cheers,

You can see I4C4LO's 100 series tackle all the Rubicon obstacles (links below)
The 18's he's running look cool. Just don't ask how he scratched them up! hahaha

The Celine Dion music is kind of an "inside joke"...reverting back to Pismo 05 and a drunken Celine Dion hate tyriad I went on after a few too many shots of Patron:D If anyone thinks I actually like Celine, just check my avtar:flipoff2:

Well jokes aside, you can tell your off road skill level watching those videos.
I want the powers that be to creat a readers ride section so we can see the mods and tire sizes and lifts and, and and. I like the photo sticky, but I prefer something like "Check out my Truck: http://www.yotatech.com/showthread.php?t=99635

My vote for meanest: sin, or snook

What kind of roof-rack is that?

val,
There is a boulder twice as big as me under the truck,
a former football player w/ arms as big as my torso who is jacking up a 7000lb truck,
there are custom bumpers, 35's and it's the Rubicon....

and you want to know what roofrack that is????!! hahaha

j/k :D
it's a ARB

Dieselbigot,
Near, far, whereever you are..... blah blah blah (you finish it b/c I know you memorized all the lyrics)! :D
