Any Pics? I'm considering the OME lift with an ARB bull bar on the front and 35" tires.

You mean on the FJ correct? I am also thinking of this combination. 35's would be what size metric?

Yes, in a FJ Cruiser...

Any pics?

No, I mean that's what I am looking to try to do as well. OME lift, and 35's... I have seen some rigs with the 3" lift and 34's on it and it looks great. Stinkyfinger has 34's on his with a 3" lift.....

I have the 35x10.5 and the Q78... But I think that the Q78 (35.5") it's too big for the OME suspension...

Here is my FJ with 35" MTZ's OME HD lift and ARB Bull Bar.

I've been told to run 35's with a 3" lift you have to extend the rear bump stops
Otherwise on extreme flexing the tire will rub hard in the fender well.
I'm running 34's and when I stuff the rear tire in the fender well it is about a 1/16 to 1/8
from rubbing.
Don't forget that some 35" tires actually measure 34" to 34.5" new and are not a true 35.

I have never had rubbing in the rear even with a heavy ARB bumper and rear winch. I have bottomed out in the front when traveling over bumps in sand at high speeds, but nothing flex related.

you had to do the frame chop to fit those on, right?

I don't have the car yet... But today I pay my OME suspension for the FJ Cruiser... I want to use my two sets of tires in the FJ... SSR 35x10.5R17 and Q78R16

What do you think?

unless you are going to put a rear bumper on i would suggest getting the OME895 e coil in the rear (it has the same compression rate although it is about half an inch to 3 quaurters of an inch shorter than the 895). I have: OME 886 front coil, N14oS front strut, OME 895 rear coil, and n141 rear shock. Along with the ARB bumper and winch, my front is a little over an inch lower than the rear. I hate the way that looks. Although i'm hoping the soon to be REAR BUMPER will lower the rear.

JUST an FYI

Even if you have the rear bumper the heavies may be a little much. The ARB rear bumper seems to be the lightest and there it is still a bumpy ride. If you want it smoothed out with the heavies I recommend a rear tire carrier or a rear winch.

Let me ask a question:

I call ARB today and finally, I decide use 886 in the front for the ARB bumper and the winch, but for the rear, they have:

- OME 895 is 390 mm, 260 lbf/in
- OME 895E is 375 mm, 260 lbf/in
- OME 896 is 390 mm, 318 lbf/in

But I hate this too: "my front is a little over an inch lower than the rear. I hate the way that looks", what do I have to use if I want, both ARB bumpers (front and rear) with a winch just in the front... 886 in the front but 895, 895E or 896 for the rear?

Thanks, and sorry for my BAD english...

PS: The front OME coil spring rate is:

- OME 885 is 395 mm, 590 lbf/in
- OME 886 is 402 mm, 660 lbf/in

I've got the 886s in the front and 895s in the rear. ARB/winch in the front. Seems pretty level to me. That's mine in the rear.

I've been told the same thing as stinky. I would extend the bumpstops just to be careful. If you take a really hard hit and jam your tires into the fender it would be a major bummer. Also, nobody answered my question about the frame chop. Do you need to do this mod to run 35s?

depends on the offset and backspace of the wheels you are using. If they are the same as the stock wheels, you probably won't.

You have to cut the the body mounts to run 35s, no ifs, ands, or buts.
A 6 inch lift would be the only way you don't have to cut them.
33s and some 34s, depending on the tire width and rim offset, you can use without a body mount chop, but you might still get a little rub.

My bad.
I had to trim the frame for my 33s, but I got my wheels in my "pre-MUD" days. I didn't know there was even such a thing as offset and backspace. MUD has saved me from many such f*@!ups since.

speaking of offsets and backspace.... could someone try to explain these terms to me as simply as possible? I'm gonna upgrade to new wheels someday and maybe bigger tires. I have Bridgestone AT 285/70/R17 with the OME lift and have no rub at all. Are there any negative aspects of doing the Frame chop mod? Does it have any impact on anything?
