Looking for some measurements. If you've got 315's or thereabouts and are running Christo's 6" springs could you give me a ballpark measurement from level surface to lip of wheel well. Not looking for super accurate, can this hold up in a court of law and scientific scrutiny, type of measurement. This is for the boss - yes, that boss - to determine the feasability of having to put kids and dogs and groceries in the truck or putting my head under one of its tires...

Thanks in advance.
Mike R.

I've been emailing a fella here , who might see this and chime in . He has Slee's 6" lift , and runs 315's on 16x10 wheels . I asked for a measurement similar to what you're asking .. I asked for the measurement from the lower lip of the flares to mid centre cap . Both measure 26" on his 80 . Thats with a stock front bumper , and an aftermarket rear bumper .

TY

Tyler, thanks - I was getting impatient. Got nothing real to do at work except surf and post...

That's good as I've got 24.5" front and back now to middle of center caps so now it's a matter of demonstrating what little difference an extra 1.5-2" would be. Well, I'm probably preaching to the choir here but this has to fly past someone 5' 4" (but not to be underestimated when disturbed and/or irritated).

Well there is a perfect xmas gift ... heels ... platform shoes ... etc :D

TY

PS : There is always stuffing tissues in her winter boots . "Extra insulation , honey ... just thinkin of you ! ;) "

Yep, just what Tyler says.

Mike, do you have any lift on your rig right now?

Carl

Mike,

Just lift it and then supplement it with a Slee slider for the step functionality.

Mike,
I've got the setup you're looking at -- sort of anyway.
I'll take the measurements after work.

Carl - yeah, unless you can get 24.5" between your wheel well and middle of center cap without one...just kidding, it's about 5" total with 315/70R17 BFG ATs for the road and 9.0R16 XZLs for the trail.

Alia - uh, I've been running the Hanna sliders.

Curran - thanks, you are one of the people I was trying to remember when I posted. I've got the adjustable front, rear panhards and rear uppers and Bjowett's caster/camber hybrid w/ OME caster correction bushings in the stock arms. Just trying to see how much of a difference going to the 6" springs will be and how close to the desired caster I'll be.

Ground to Fender Flare (inside peak of the ark)
Front: 41.5"
Rear: 42.0"

Hope that helps.

Curran, thanks. It does help, just don't know what mine are yet. Are you running the 35s on your 16" rims?

that's spot on to my estimates - mine sits at 40.5" front & back with aux tank full

Mike,
I've got the 35's on the factory 16x8" alloys with 1.5 inch wheel spacers.

Curran ,

Two questions ...

1 ) Can you put up a pic of your 80 with the wheel spacers .. want to see how far out the come .

2 ) Did you have to go with longer wheel studs for the spacers ? If not , no worries ?

TY

Tyler,
The wheel spacers I bought came with new studs pressed into the spacers. They bolt onto the hub with the existing studs.

There is a picture of my truck toward the bottom of this thread .

I wonder if anyone else has some more measurements from the center hub to the bottom of the flare for a 6 inch lift. I'm curious to see what the measurements are for various outfittings.

Mine is 25 1/4" front, and 25 1/2" rear centre of hub to btm of flare. With mods listed on sig line below.
Cheers,
Sean

LOL - I'm still trying to figure how to convince my 5'2" boss that the OME kit will make practically no difference in the effort needed to get in to and out of my 62. Based on the principle that it is usually easier to ask for forgiveness than for permission, I went ahead and ordered it from Kurt. I'll install it when she is not looking and find out what she thinks.

80s content: If the boss' reaction is not good, I'll try to make it up to her by buying an 80 as a sibling for the 62, which, in an unlifted state and with running boards, should be more user friendly for the vertically challenged.

Thanks Sean,

You also wouldn't happen to have what those measurements were when you had J springs?

Observation: if an 80 sits level, wouldn't the front arch sit higher than the rear (relative to the ground)?

So why am I seeing the height numbers pretty close to the same or even a little higher in the rear?
Just curious.
