I haven't torn it apart yet, so I don't know but I bet its cool. So get your vote cast soon, cause tonight I plan a compression test and starting it again to see if I can see more better where the oil is coming from.

The winner gets a surprise backwards hug with possible moob cuppage.

I was driving down the road riding homo style (3 guys in the 40 headed to a party)...

....and the "exhaust manifold leak" had been getting louder all day. Then, while driving down the road in 3rd gear (3 speed), something went awry! My aft homo started bitching about not being able to breathe. I looked back to hit him with a rolled newspaper, and I couldn't see him through the smoke. So I pulled over and the 40 was pissing oil!!!! like a garden hose.

I have yet to tear it apart but the oil cascades down the drivers side of the block under #5 and #6. I cant see a hole. Its coming from under the intake and exhaust manifolds. I also noticed that there seems to be oil leaking from the top of the dipstick. Nothing leaks while the truck is not running. The truck starts and runs great.

The jabroni who sold me this thing is a tool bag and I will be hunting him down to stomp his goofy ass for selling me a broken 40.

Also. this truck has been horribly over heated by the previous owner for years, and run with out coolant. then when it did have coolant it had no anti-freeze....in winter....in northern Wisconsin....so the block had been frozen solid before. But he pinky swore on scouts honor that the truck was perfect!

I have noticed that since I have had it, it has burned oil at an awesome rate, but it doesn't really smoke by 40 standards..... and fresh oil will look like donkey ass in 100 miles....

Well I cast my vote and I think the answer is easy.
One choice in the vote should be sabotage by the PO who is upset because he sold a large portion of his manhood when he sold you that 40. And this was done in your garage while you slept but not an explosive.

Interesting. So you're saying he stuck his dick in my "exhaust manifold leak", while I slept, got stuck, cut it off, and his dick locked up my motor?????

:hhmm:

You're a genius!

...I know a guy...

I'm guessing an oil gallery plug, but I thought I'd point out that there is a perfectly good 2f sitting on a rolling pallet in my garage... (as long as perfectly good means burning lots of oil and not puking it)
If you are stuck on Fs and 3speeds, that can be had from the side yard.

I'm pretty sure you holed a piston, but bacon is always the answer.

Im leaning this way myself.

it was brown antifreeze instead of brown oil?

No one gets a moob squeeze.

The answer was a timed explosive device installed by the PO.

20 years ago he installed a remote oil filter kit and one of the lines was pressed up against the back side of the header.

I got the new hose made this morning and will be back to bombing it around until the next failure.

interesting read here.......very interesting...

maybe you should return the truck for a refund. i heard the previous owner drives around with half of the cash in an envelope just in case he wants to buy something stupid like another cruiser...

well Ive done at least $5k worth of upgrades....

Here I am all excited to see some pics of blown up 40 engine carnage and all that caused it was a hole in an oil line?!?!?! What a cock tease!

Oh im happy you dont have to do an engine swap!!!

I gotta Barry Grant Speed Demon to top off that motor of yours.

Driving it today.

Though i am on 4 cylinders.

After I replaced the hose, I decided to pay more attention because the truck seem to be laboring before the hose went.

The header (I HATE headers) was reading 350-400* on 1, 4, 5, 6, and 185* on 2 & 3. A compression test revealed ~125 lbs on 1, 4, 5, 120 lbs on 6, and nothing on 2&3.

So I put on my garage flip flops last night, and popped the head off...

Kinda hard to see, but the HG is gone between 2 & 3.

Here is the head...

I'm not good at reading motors, or all the colors.... My thoughts were to simply replace the gasket and go on about my way. But after seeing how looks on the inside, Im wondering if I should rebuild it.... Thoughts? Im not a typical Land Cruiser guy (bored rich guy with too much time to scratch the maintenance rash caught during his land rover days...) ....in fact im not a land cruiser guy at all. Im a mini guy. I dont care to maintain s*** on this thing. If it is running i'm happy.
