Like 1972. Or maybe more like 1978. My first set of other than stock tires on my FJ55. I just decided at that point those white letters look a lot better facing in.

I know I've seen a few pics of them on 80s. Thankfully, very few.

If you wheel a lot, the white letters get scrubbed off on rocks and start to look crappy. Same thing happens on curbs if your careless

No. No. And no. Don't do this. For the love of humanity...

I have never, ever done this.

Having said that, it's your rig man, duwhatchalike... :flipoff2:

Kind of depends on the tire. I really liked my BFG's white letters, but my new Kenda's white letters don't look good at all.

BFG's seem to be the exception to the rule, they do look good out on most rigs imho
I Miss my little truck!!!

don't do it...

That's SSSOOOOOOOOO 1980's!

Get out your leg warmers and big hair!

Turn your letters out!

ALL things black today, Its the rage.

I run mine white letters out... I have a set of KM2s

They look great! Until the first time I took them offroad.. Now they're stained brown which is okay because when my truck is clean, it doesn't look totally like a mall crawler.

Brillo pads or any knock offs restore the brand new white look.

Good call on that! I have given up on these but need to get out a brillo pad the next time I wash it. I did that on my Tundra when I had the KOs on there and toward the end of the life, it did take away the color (still better than brown, though)

The white lettering is the only "flaw" I have with your truck man. :)

Had.

I do miss the white lettering though. Very few tires can pull it off, and when I bought 35s there was just no reason to pay BFG another $150 a tire for their classic white letters.
