Hello Mudders, I have a 1994 triple locked fzj80 in Tennessee and want to get into the 62 market but need better gas mileage.

I'm looking for a white FJ62 with a diesel or V8 conversion. Im planning to list the FZJ80 if I find the unicorn so in the meantime, does anyone have or know of white 62 for sale or trade? Thanks for the help! Jon

Diesel would do it, v8 conversion is not a whole lot better. 2-4 mpg.

If you drive 12,000 miles a year, a 4 mpg increase (12 to 16 mpg) saves 250 gallons of fuel. If you go diesel, and get 20 mpg, you save 400 gallons. But it cost 20% more, so in apples to apples, probably 350 gallons in equivalent price.

Gas mileage is overrated. It a reason to get a new toy, not an economical reason.

Power and torque. Now..that is a reason! Can't sell that to the spouse though. Fuel economy you can sell.

Just thinking out loud.

I have a 62 and I'm in Nashville. I am also looking for a an 80 series so a potential trade would be great. I pm'd you.
