So a while ago, I posted these pictures

and it does say Turbo on the back, which would mean I'd have a BJ74 with a 13B-T motor.

But today, when I was checking oil, I looked at a sticker which was in japanese saying the engine model was a 3B.

Do they all say they have 3B engines even though they are 13B-Ts or do I have a non-turbo BJ with a turbo badge on the back?

Hmm, it should say 13-bt on it - and you should see the turbo. turbo is written in red on the top of the engine.

Well, I looked around the engine bay, I can't find the turbo... and the block just has a bit of rust on top, no red turbo written on it :(

Can anyone provide a 13B-T engine bay shot for me for comparison?

post your serial number and we can quickly see if it is a 73 or a 74 series...

Where can that be found? under the hood? or is it the VIN?

edit: I think it is a 3B

There was 3B yellow sticker on the side of the block

BJ73-0003894
S-BH73V-MN

On the silver plate Engine: 3B

Aww.. :(

Oh well, at least I don't have to worry so much about the turbo cool down procedure now hehe :)

Besides adding turbo, any way to make it faster? :bounce:

The good news is that the 3B is turbo ready and this forum has lots of knowledge on the subject so start saving the dollars;)

Well, in a way, I'm kinda relieved to know that there is no turbo.

I've always thought it had a turbo, and well, it's slow but I know it will be so it didn't matter. I have a WRX for my speed thrills ;)

but now that I know I don't have a turbo, I dun have to be wait for the turbo to cool down everytime I park my car which makes it even more convienent and I can take pyrometer off the list of stuff to get for the truck.

no, a pyro is good for any diesel since the exhaust temps relate to the driving style of an idividual. it is an eye opener on any truck...
well worth the money...

Alright :)

I read around, and it seems the number to stay under is 1250F?

And I should probably get ATEB to install this, I dun wanna mess up while drilling into the exhaust manifold

actually it is quite easy, buy a proper drill bit and a 1/4 pipe thread tap, drill and tap the hole... done... it really is that easy....
