well i have no brake lights but the fuse isn't blown even though there is power at the fuse. Since I had the whole interior of the truck apart today I have been troubleshooting but I can't find the problem anywhere in the wire looms. Whatever the problem is it is before the signal is sent to the tranny shift lock release. According to the FSM wiring diagram that means it's most likely the stop light switch itself. Does anyone know where this is and what it looks like? There are many marvellous things under my dash in the vicinity of the brake pedal.

Darn it I was looking forward to running the cruiser as a one seater tomorrow. :D

Simon, I would think it's mounted on a bracket that allows it to come in contact with the arm of the brake pedal. But if you don't see it there then I'm probably wrong. If you're still working on this at this late hour let me know and I'll go take a peek in my PJs.

thanks riley, yes it was where you would suppose it would be, directly in contact with the pedal arm but somewhat tricky to get at. Managed to fix it but don't know what I did. Very strange. I checked for continuity between the fusebox and the "in" wire at the switch and there was no interuption but for some reason I could not get power at the switch once I put the fuse in. Then I took the dash apart removed and fiddled with the fuse box and it suddenly sent power to the switch and all was well. I can't see any loose wires so I'll just hope it keeps working.
