One of my core memories from childhood was riding in the ‘59ish F250 4x4 farm truck overtop of a large snowdrift in the middle of what felt like nowhere SW Idaho during a backroad adventure while visiting grandpa’s farm. No winch, no tow rope, no cellphones. Probably the same age as your son there. He will remember this trip/adventure with Dad for life.Took my son up camping near Nederland, CO, and did a bit of wheeling (West Magnolia and North Caribou). Got a bit sketchy in the mud holes on N Caribou! Trails were almost totally deserted, only saw a few folks all day... If I do more solo wheeling I'll either need to pick tamer trails or invest in a winch

Dodging deer is like breathing out here. Just a part of life.Spent the day in Fredericksburg recently. Those Germans know how to bake stuff!! 100's of creamed deer on the road heading East, 2-3 piled up in one place... They just hit them like flies out there!!!!!
Great idea. I’ll be careful. Thanks@bernardbar3
Did you try loosening the tension spring inside the door? Be careful however … they are known to snap because of rust (on earlier doors) you have later nonusa vent doors … but assume it’s the same
I love it!! Congrats!!Yesterday was my 40's 50th birthday (according to @DirtDauberGarage). I spent the day running errands and prepping for a trip. Leaving today to head to northern VT to spend a couple days celebrating the 50th by driving the class 4s. I'll add some pics when I get back.
Looks like your 40s most likely birthday would have been Wednesday, the 7th of July 1976.This is a great thread! Thanks for taking the time to set this up. I have a July 1976, VIN FJ40-227940. I'll plan a party if you can tell me what day?
I think it came form Kansas City area and moved to Maine. Sat in someone's garage for 10+ years before I bought it in 2020. Daily driver in the non=salted road months since 2022.
i bought it disassembled. This is what it looked like when I got it home and "reassembled" it.
