I have noticed that this forum has been devoid of any run reports (non-expedition) for a bit now. I have been busy with work and have been wanting to get back into the wheeling scene with fall/winter coming up. Where are you guys finding out about upcoming runs? Who are you running with? I used to really enjoy the runs with the adventure 4x4 group but I noticed that that the forum has been purchased by some oausa.org or something like that. Does anyone know where those guys have gone? Brayden?

Miles,

A4x4 didn't get bought, but most everyone has transitioned over to Outdoor Adventure .Net

Outdoor Adventure USA, LLC • Index page

We're having a big bear fest this weekend. Here's the section for the fest:

Outdoor Adventure USA, LLC • View forum - 2008 OAUSA, LLC, Summerfest Event

Oh I got an email when it transitioned and I was under the impression that it was sold, my fault.

That fest sounds like fun!!! I can't make it this weekend but that is what I have been looking for. Cool. Thanks

nobody interested in going for a run?

$$ of gas has limited me as well as scout activities this summer.

I've been wanting to go, but locally (borrego or closer) really don't mind the gas prices since I'm not gonna go out every weekend but I don't want to drive 4+ hours to bigbear or northern LA specially if I'm coming back the same day.
So in other words, I'm always in for a run within two (ish) hour drive :steer:

It's summer. Not as many runs when it's hot(ter).

Broncos Peak maybe? somewhere there? Good thing about here in the SJC is that it's just about 2(ish) hours to borrego, big bear, calico, cleghorn, etc.

Another week and a half and I will have armor on the rear end to protect the tailgate. Haven't been able to wheel for awhile with no rear crossmember so I am itching to get out. We have wagons and A/C, this is the time of year that we an advantage over 40s so let's get out and do it. I would have to do a day trip though since I would have to leave a 3 week old with the :princess: and bring the little guy with me.

redcheetah, your thread and your idea, what do you say. Seems a fair number of us want to get out, you want to set something up? Borrego, Truckhaven, Superstition, ... :hhmm: Just throwing out ideas that seem central to most. Anyone?

sounds like a plan....

I'm in, work permitting of course, but it shouldn't be a problem if I let them know a few days in advance so I don't get scheduled to work the weekend of :steer:

It would probably have to be a day trip for me as well right now. Is anyone up for a Big Bear run anytime soon? I can't get enough of those trails. Maybe September? I don't need to lead the run organization, anyone else who wants to is welcome.

I definitelty need to do some PM (belts, fan clutch, etc) before my next run to make sure it is proactive and not necessary while I am stuck, broken down on the trail.

I don't mind but I would be happy let anyone else that wanted to as well.

I have no problem with Big Bear but it sounds like that might be too far for the SD crew for a day trip. I think Borrego/Truckhaven/Ocatillo Wells area makes for a pretty fair drive for all? I would actually like to do Bronco's Peak as I haven't done that one before but it is farther south. You are about two hours away from those above in Riverside too yeah? I am fine with some heat as it hasn't been crazy hot lately, shows high of 104 tomorrow.

Speak up people, who is in, when and where do you want to go?

I am thinking early to mid September, I like the Bronco Peak idea but am open to anything.

TTORA has a run this weekend up in Big Bear. I will be there running Bull and Dishpan. Anyone here is also welcome.

TTORA will also be running Bronco next month.

How many rigs usually show up on a run like this? It would be cool to meet some of the TTORA contingency.

Ulyses is in, anyone else. :D

TTORA is big for the Big Bear, and Calico trips...alot of new guys. Last year when we did Bronco and Sidewinder, we had 6 trucks. We try to scare the new guys out of going out there. It should be pretty good this year again :steer:

Corral Cyn is fun. I'd try to make that.

Are any of the other trails open now, besides Sidewinder and Bronco Peak?
