When I bought my 2000 LC last year it came with some custom chrome wheels. They look great, but I'm an old school guy and would prefer the stock wheels. My son drives my 1996 LC with it's stock wheels. Does anyone see a problem with us swapping wheels? Are their any compatibility issues associated with the two models. If not, I'll just need to find some new center hubs as the old ones on the '96 have seen better days.

The '96 and '00 (1998+) use different lug spacing, lug size and lug #...6 lug vs 5 lug...so no they can not be swapped.

You can probably sell yours for more money on e-Bay than you can buy some stock ones for on e-Bay.

Just check there every once in a while to see if someone else wants to get blinged out. The only thing that may end up costing you money in the long run is shipping.

If you put in your description that you are willing to accept a trade for stock 100 series wheels + some money, you might get a lot more bites.

Mike, check ebay. The "stock" 16" wheels are selling for between $150-300 per set including caps) plus shipping which is usually around $75-120.

If your rims are nicer, you can certainly sell them for more after you get the new ones mounted.

The other choice would be to order steel wheels from Stockton wheel for about $150 each. Do a search, as this topic has been covered.

the 80 series wheels are worth a heck of alot more than the 100's. what was your son planning on doing with his wheeless 80?

Thanks for the input. With the wheels being different our idea of "trading wheels" definitely isn't an option. I'll keep an eye on ebay for some stock wheels and then look at selling mine down the road. The lad will keep his original wheels and learn sometimes even the best of ideas doesn't always pan out. Thanks again. Mike D.
