New member here...great forum and have learned tons about the LC200.

I looked around and couldn't find the information on a good set of aftermarket wheels. I think I'm looking for a forged wheel but most mainstream brands like KMC and FUEL seem to be cast and made in China. The Anza forged by Fuel is available but it is only sold in 17" (seems a little small). I doubt I'll ever off-road my 2014 LC but I'd like to keep it close to its roots. Mine is white and stock height (no lift). I thought black or mostly black wheels looked nice against the paint.

Wheel size of either 18 or 20 seems to be the most common sizes.

I was looking at the BFG KO2 tires since they work well for road/snow/mud/whatever...

I'm interested in pics and opinions on what I could go with.

IMO, going larger than 18 just makes them ride rougher and takes away off road capability should you ever need it. 18s are readily available and cheaper. KO2s have done excellently for me. I have them on my 80, a 100, and my 200. Love them on all 3. As far as the wheels go, have you considered just powdercoating your stock wheels? The wheels are very high quality, so unless you just don't like the way they look it easy. Also, I seem to see lots of black wheels that look great, but from more than 25 feet away they are just black and you cant really discern one black wheel from another. Photoshop is your friend. :)

Yea, that's what I was thinking in size as well. 18" is definitely friendlier to the ride and not dinging the wheels up. I'm mainly looking for brands that aren't all made in China. Seems like from what I've you either pay 800-1000 per wheel for a forged wheel or you pay 200-300 for a cast wheel from China.

The stock wheels are definitely well made, just was looking for something that had a little more appeal - otherwise they worry great. If I do replace them I don't want to replace the stock wheels with something inferior.
 
Lots of guys have done the TRD Pro wheels from the Tundra. They are black and 18. Look pretty nice and great quality still. Just an option.
 
Just bought a set of method racing wheels 18s, got them in a week. And they were reasonable, compared to the HRE's that I'm waiting for.
 
For an explanation as to why it is so hard to buy US made wheels from a wheel manufacture:

There might be a couple more US wheel manufactures now then when this post from AEV was made. (Trail Ready comes to mind, I think Hutchinson also makes their wheels here to help them with US military bids, but I'm pretty sure they are a French company. Neither are cheap.) But it is still very hard to buy US manufactured wheels.

Ah - got it. Who are the good wheel makers? It seems like since everything is Chinese made, but there have to be the brands that have a good rep. I saw a few boars discussing cracks in KMC cand FUEL. Both of those were in my top choices until that.
 
I'm running the fuel Anzas in a 18 with the bfg ko2s and love them so far . they have 1 year on the finish and some other on the wheel its self. The tires are great . Mud snow ice pavement so far and I love them .

yep, 20mm offset, I'm rolling the same wheels...

Ah. I like the stance. That's my only complaint with Rock Warriors. Wish they were closer to 20 (they are 50).

This. Stick with 17 or 18" wheels. 20" wheels are more expensive, heavier, and far more likely to be damaged by a pothole.

What size are those wheels? 18x8" or 18x9"?
 
in the 18" size the only width available is 9"
