During the weekend many ask about how are trail up north the border. We do have alot of places, nice one also.

How many passport owner (or maybe futur owner) would be willing to come up north if i get something going. Obviously next year.

From the FNF it would be a 5 1/2 to 6 hour drive north.

EDIT: BTW i'm not even sure yet a passport is required.

Depending on the weekend, I'd be interested

I would be interested. Do you think that I would have trouble getting the 45 accross the border on a trailer. Also do you have any H55s that fit behind the 2F or are there junk yards you can take me to?

They are hard to find, just like in the us. Don't expect anykind of cruiser stuff in a junk yard here.

But if you are looking for something specific, when time comes i can do some search.

For your truck on a trailer, no i don't see why you would have problems. You simply tell them you are going offroading at a TLC event of some sort.

Eric....I would be interested....but the thought of breaking gear north of the border is a bit daunting....as the complications are probably not worth it. I would have to check on things like roadside assistance, etc.

In principle...yeah...I would be interested.

Roadside assistance? Man the worse worse case scenario, I have trailer and pickup that can haul anything, So i drive you over the border.

Its not like you are going without a good contact here (euh, that would be me ) and we aren't going very far away, Montreal is 30 minute from the border.

I am definitely interested if I can get the 80 I want. No way I'd do it in the Pig, just too far.

Dave,

I'm sure you would get a Old Man Emu suspension for your truck (if they are available for it?) and the ride would be day and night. It was just like that with my Bj42. Before driving 3-4 hours was just unthinkable. Now i'd haul the M101 down to Moab.

Eric, I'm in, but will have to learn how to floor it! ;) Larry

Then I am in. I would be up for winter wheeling too. Keep us posted....

I would be very interested in this, I've never been up that way.
Dave was telling me how great the wheeling is up there, just give us plenty of notice when.
Hopefully by then the American dollar will be worth more then Canadian money, that will help make the trip cheaper :)

The exchange rate as already changed drasticly in your favor.

I will certainly put something together for local cruiser head and for anyone willing to drive up there.

Close to montreal we have a place call chertsey, very similar to fnf, but maybe bigger with alot more trails. Usually for the 33" + with locker. And about 30-40 minute away we have alot of power lines trails where stock truck can have some fun, but you need good sliders and aggressive tires.

I will work on something, i need guides that know the chertsey area very well, i've done only a few trails.

In Chertsey; this is the crossing of two trail, the fender bender and the pizza run, the pizza run is from left to right riding on the river bed, good place to test spotters, i was doing the fender bender that cross the river bed, see 2nd pic

We could have used some better spotting on the Saturday run. Most of the time we seemed to be on our own until we were buggered up on top of some boulder in the middle of the mud or wedged against a tree. (Not that I helped you much squeezing your top through the trees.)

I'm up fo a road trip, but either have to make my 40 more comfortable for a long road trip or have a more comfortable model. I can see making the trip in my 62 or 80, but neither of them are modified for wheeling - yet!

Yeah, i also should have told you to steer left to avoid that mud pit (i was busy talking to Nat). But i have learn to ask for spotting if i really need it.

For the trees, just a bad calculation from me. I thought i would clear it, but i didn't and it was downhill and i was already engage in between them. that is part of the fun as long as i could drive back.

That and switching back to radial tires. The swampers work great off road, but they are so bad on road that I'm not sure they are worth the sacrifice of driveability.

That is exactly why i run the bf mud, they are great on the road, and they don't bring me less fun in the trail because they are not the greatest, just a tad more challenge thats all. Get a locker in the rear and switch to bf mud km2 and you'll be all set.

Hey...by way of dates, how about some wheeling on Saturday November 29th. We might have some snow on the ground, but surely could still have fun.

At that date you may need a snow blower here to get through a trail. And this time of year, the hunting season is starting, last thing you want is to show up in sight of a hunter cache. He might just start shooting at you.

So all that said....you are saying that the 29th won't work for you?

Do you have another date in mind for the fall or are you drumming up support for a Spring gathering?
