I found some trails on OnX offroad up by Scranton, behind Montage Mountain, and and another group of trails on the next mountain over. I was thinking of exploring them Saturday if anyone is interested. They don't look terribly hard, although with possible snow that could change.
If there is any interest we could get a small group together.

Wish I could. College move in for my offspring. Wife thinks that is more important than off roading.

I'm up that way about every other weekend, so if it doesn't happen this weekend or we don't hit all the trails I'm sure we could find a weekend you can make it.

Interested however weather needs to agree. I don't think it's going to.

I'm seeing some clouds but no perception in the area for the rest the week. Are you seeing something different?

Yeah snow Saturday.

My junk is still broken. Next trip is to Long Island hopefully to get parts, unless someone close by has any 3.73 9.5” 3rds.

Wow it just changed to snow this afternoon.
I'm up for a snow wheeling day!

I am cancelling my plans for wheeling Saturday. After rechecking the trail description, where I wanted to go is steep, narrow and has drop offs. I do not want to risk sliding or getting stuck at the bottom of the trail not being able to get up the hill.

Here is a link to the OnX page for the trails for future reference.

Interesting. I get a overlandy vibe from descriptions.

I thought so too, however the review descriptions sound a lot different. I'll scout it when the weather warms up and see what it's really like.

I would definitely be into exploring these trails with you. But I don't want to drive up there in the snow tomorrow morning.

Totally understandable.
I was talking to a friend who lives up there and is into offroading, he said he knows a bunch of trails around. So when the weather gets nicer I'll plan a day we can get out there!

After canceling the plan to wheeling on the first trails I found, some local connections found us a spot with some unregulated trails in the Nanticoke area.
@85yota1 was supposed to join me but his truck decided to have some last minute coil issues, so I went out on a solo truck scouting mission to see what the trails are like in that area. They are definitely worth revisiting as there is a ton of different trails with a large variety of obstacles to try out. I was only there for a couple hours and barely scratched the surface.

Had to use the winch once, as a downed tree forced me to back out of a trail and into some mud.

Was not expecting to see a whole car torched in the woods.

Unfortunately I took some damage going down the wrong line. Had to reverse to regain traction and I slid into an embankment on the side of the trail.

I was just at Elk mountain- nice country up that way I would be down to go back to wheel that area and explore.
