Worked on rear shock mounting, making a new cradle for the fuel tank, and started framing the rear cab.

Shock mounts were not easy to locate because the springs being moved inwards, especially on passenger side. After multiple locations, I opted for outside the frame rail. I don't think this will be an issue, won't know until it's flexing. I will need different length shock, but for now, just using what I got. I have a feeling I will be re-doing these mounts later on, or running wheel spacers.

The fuel tank cradle was made using existing straps. Tank was flipped 180 degrees to allow for axle movement. The bed will start on top of the tank. Tank cradle is tacked in, will make it bolt on to the frame for ease of removing tank if needed.

If you run the 80 FF rear it will give you the space you need off the shock mounts, and the diff offset is slightly more centered then the 60 so it might work well (or better) for what we discussed over text.

I know where there's one in Orlando... ;)

Cool project.

I would assume the 6x6 is not a question of what the 3rd axle will be, but what the middle axle needs to be. Being you're going with the offset cruiser axles, how the hell are you gonna find an offset power divider? Damn!

Give you an A for effort but surely you have SOMETHING in mind to make this beast a reality right?

And what kind of drive shaft goes between? Double cv shaft? Would need to have plenty of slip.

Keep it up I love the crazy projects as well!
Couldn't you modify another carrier housing to bolt to the back of the middle axle? Just cut out the area in the carrier where the caps are so just the pinion is left and bolt it in place of the diff cover?

I thought about that but there's not enough distance between the two rear axles to have a driveshaft, and if you bolted the two pinions together they wouldn't be able to articulate independently. without destroying both differentials.

Wow! This thing is gonna be sweet. Can't wait to watch the progress.

Went ahead and mounted the rear winch. Picked up a winch plate a few months back for another project, and it fits perfect for this. Made a couple mount brackets and she sits nicely.

Had a thought last night on how big my ARB rack was compared to the size of bed I want to make. Turns out it's the same length but about 12" total narrower. Since I don't know what I will be doing with that rack now, decided to play with idea of using it as a bed, use what I have right now.
My thinking is add some fenders on the side and can cover the rack in diamond plate or something. Could resist to make a few mounts and place my RTT on it. Will pull the truck out this weekend to further evaluate it.

I think you should run 37s or 38s on that thing. Those tires will look really small as big as the chassis of that thing is going to be.
Well when you already have 7 of 33" tires, not going to spend more money now for bigger size. When these wear out I'll can upgrade, as well as SOA the rest of the suspension to fit.
