I just mounted the new Snow Tire set up on the LX. I am very concerned about the length of the front wheel studs. The new lug nuts only make about 4.5 turns before contacting the wheel. The rears go 6.5 or so. Has anyone seen this with there aftermarket wheels? Has anyone installed longer wheel studs? Thanks guys

Please excuse if this is a silly question, but are you using the correct wheel nuts? If the Method wheels require a conical nut, the OEM flat nuts will not work.

Nothing guys? I'm surprised nobody has swapped there wheel studs. Especially with all the aftermarket wheels being used.

What is the offset of these wheels? Stock is 60mm and the RWs are 50mm.

I didn't swap out studs with my Method NVs (9" with 25mm offset) on my 2011 LC fwiw.

I'll do a quick turn count and let you know....

Edit - I simply removed one lug nut from passenger front and passenger rear and had 11 1/2 turns in front, 13 1/2 turns in rear before lugnut contacted the wheel. May not be an exact replication of your test / turn count, but definitely more than 4 or 6 turns you were getting. HTH

Just updated my original post - 11 1/2 turns on front, 13 1/2 turns on rear. HTH

I wonder if the center section of my wheels is thicker

Does your wheel center bore

Fit completely over your hub

And is the mounting surface of the wheel flush against the rotor?

Edit: Wheel pics for reference only - not Toyota/Lexus parts.

The bore should be 110mm - @gaijin -lol
We had this conversation the other day!

We (Canguro Racing) run a longer SAE stud on Monica as we couldn't find a longer Metric stud. It works fine for racing as each chase truck carries a specially milled socket to fit in the Rock Warriors, less ideal for a daily driver.

@cruiseroutfit - am I understanding you correctly that you can use the TRD conical lug nuts with the dorman 610-471 wheels studs on the Rock Warrior wheels? and you use the dorman 610-471 due to the 1/4 spacer on the front TRD Rock Warrior wheels to allow a bit more clearance on both the KDSS and the UCA?
thanks

No, you must use an SAE lug nut to match. We run an open-nut so that we can monitor threads. We don't have KDSS or aftermarket UCA's on the race 200, we do run a small spacer to clear the lower coilover & bypass shock bolt.

I installed the Dorman studs on the front hubs today. About 1 1/2 hours from when I pulled the truck into the garage to backing it out. Pretty easy job. Studs pressed in with an appropriate amount of force on a bj tool. Now to tackle the rears. I'm sure I'll figure it out. Wondering who here has do e them. Is the parking brake a pain?
