Wheel spacers on LX700 OT with 35” tires (1 Viewer)

After running my 35 inch tires for a while, I decided to put on wheel spacers.

I previously ran spiderTrax wheel spacers on my 200 series, and for three years and a ton of trails I never had an issue.

**edited** The 1" wheel spacers ultimately led to more rubbing, requiring more trimming... the vicious cycle of 35s.

I took them off, put the OEM tires and mudflaps back on and washed my hands of the whole misadventure.

Before and after. It’s difficult to capture the perspective of the stance, it’s slight, but the tires are now pushed to the edge of the body.

Hopefully, this helps anyone considering running 35s. It takes a lot more work to do it right (no rubbing) than I was ultimately willing to undertake.

I did repaint the sway bars where it was rubbed down to bare metal. Everything is back to stock now.

Yes, unfortunately, it made a "slight rubbing" situation much worse. The OEM scrub radius/OEM wheel offset is the easiest way to clear 35s with a bit of trimming and removing mudflaps.

I was afraid of that. I was considering a 3/4" spacer to get off of the sway bar but my wife would prefer I not start trimming massaging plastic just yet (although I've already removed the mudflaps). Thoughts on something like a 3mm "floating" spacer?

That could be the sweet spot for sure. My wife isn't exactly thrilled with the time and Dr. Nick surgery I've been performing either lol

I did spacers on my Tacoma, and had to get the ol' sawzaw out to make it work. I ended up with spacers in the back and normally backspaced wheels in the front, which worked pretty well.

Your experience has me wanting to do 35's after my current 33's wear out, but definitely with the stock rims.

I honestly would not recommend it. I posted this thread too soon, and went back and edited it.

Are you rubbing the sway bar too?

I think, a bit, still trying to figure it out. I definitely sandblasted it while (allegedly) doing donuts at the beach last weekend.

I was in their shop looking the truck today; looks like removal of their rear mud flap; some minor liner trimming, their front bumper, and +25mm offset wheels.

Thanks for the intel. I dont mind removing mud flaps and trimming plastics if needed.

I am jealous you got to see it in person. Did they give any time frame on the release of their 700H OT product lineup? Any rear bumper option?

I can say that we should see the production sliders before end of year. I had eyes on their final pre-production set and the sliders are looking great and will live up to Slee's reputation. The production set should have AHC protection. Skids will come sometime after the release of the sliders.

Their front bumper is 95% production ready and is looking great in person. I like the mounting configuration as it does not rely on a draw bar to reduce stress on the OEM bumper mounting flange.

We didn't discuss rear bumper yet, but I imagine that will be fourth in line.

Thats great! I have thier rear dual swing out, aluminum skins, and steel belly pan on my Hundy and find their products great quality.
