I am wanting to take my 55 back to a stock look, I bought it with white wagon wheels. I see a lot of pics of 55's with stock looking steel wheels and caps where the wheels look beefier than the stock 5.5" units. Is it my imagination or is there somewhere to get a stock looking steel wheel that is wider? Some of the rigs that I see on CCOT and TLC look that way?

they cut out the center of a stock wheel and weld it in a wider rim it dose look cool very cool:cool:

who does this? any pics of know widened wheels? i did talk to TLC and they said they did it once but was too expensive so they did not build any more. conceptually it does not seem like it should be too expensive for a metal fab shop that has the proper equipment.

Stockton wheel does it. They are in California somewhere mabye
Stockton, I know alot of muscle car magizines advertise for them and
i have seen something about them doing 4x4 wheels. sorry i couldnt
be more help

bump. hello, i p/up the wheels and they def. fit, but they are 16 inch i think, but clearance is no problem. anyone know why they would not work. appear to be 3.5 inch bs. that is the measurement from the front lip to the center, right?
