Wheel offset advice please. Discount Tire damaged my wheels.

Hi all,

My mind is bent on trying to understand wheel offsets.

This is what happened. Months back I had my stock wheels painted "2018 LC" I went to Discount tire to have a rotation and balance done, They have balanced my tires 3 times with no damage but today they damaged 3 of the four for some reason and I had a talk with the manager prior about being careful. The tech went to the manager and showed him what he had done, the manager shook his head and walked over to me and explained what happened and sincerely apologized to me while showing me the damage. He offered to buy me new wheels right off the bat.

So heres what im trying to figure out.

My stock wheels are a 56 offset and I use a 1.25 spidertrax wheel spacer and I love the stance like this.

He ordered me 5 new Method 305's Matte black wheels that have a 25 offset and told me it would be very close to what I have now.

Can someone here with expertise verifie ?

I would also say that Discount Tire is totally stand up business for doing this for me.

With the +25m Methods and no spacer you are within .75mm of the same offset as +56mm factory wheels and 1.25-in spacer. You are good to go

Yes, they are replacing the spare as well as it is matching

Yes +25 to +35mm offset will be the range you're looking for.

Yes, they are 18's and they didn't even flinch about paying for the spare too.

Make sure methods meet the same load rating. Others here are more versed on individual wheel manufacturers but the stock cruiser wheels are especially strong and not all aftermarket ones meet the same standards.

This is why I choose the Method 305 NV Please watch starting at 25 seconds in thru 1:55 minutes in and tell me if ya think i'm ok ?

factory PSI has the tire load rating at 2512lbs.. so you can only assume the factory rims have a higher rating than that

1 side says they aren't as good as factory. The other side says 2500 per corner gives you 10,000lb limit on the rig which should be more than enough..

EDIT: I don't have the true knowledge to actually know whether you'll have issues or not. If those guys in AUS are using them with GVM upgrade that's gotta be a good sign. The "engineering" they go thru for any modification is super strict.

Thank you sir, I don't have any real weight upgrades now other than OME BP-51 with 295/65/18 tires and ARB under armour and Slee sliders to come.

I love Discount Tire - they've always treated me right even when they make a mistake. Simple mistakes will happen at every shop, but few go above and beyond like Discount. They're also great about price matching (usually beating best price), and they are one of the few shops that will put on a larger than stock tire. Costco is good for stock vehicles, but there is zero chance they'd install 35s on a 200 like Discount did for me twice.

I would expect you will be just fine. Plenty of people wheeling those with heavier rigs than yours. A nice upgrade in looks too. I may have to stop by my Discount Tire for a rotation/balance and hope for some new Methods!
