Sorry I searched "wheel center bore" and would have thought something would come up, tried the FAQ as well.

Anyone know the center bore needed to fir on an fj40?

thanks,
jake

around 4.200 inches (thats the dimension to bore disk rotors)

The wheel is centered by the taper on the lug nuts, not the center bore. The hole can be a bit larger. I know for instance the drums can be a real pita to remove, as the machining is so close. I would give them some extra clearance like .20 or so. Many years ago I machined out the center hole in 16" chevy rims by chucking them up on the rear of my rig, and fashioning a cutter with a carbide tooth in the end of a pipe. Set a round of firewood up close for a tool rest. Let out the clutch and you have a 6 cyl. metal lathe. This gave excellent results and I didn't have to pay for a ferry ride to the mainland to get to a machine shop.. I ran those wheels for 10 years with no problems. Kinda hillbilly I know, but I love that kind of stuff.

thanks, thats what i needed, I'm looking at a wheel with a 4.28" center bore, just wanted to make sure it would clear.
