Hi. It seens that just as get a handle on one thing a new one comes along. Just like the rest of life. But to be a bit more specific, my HJ 60 has developed a front passengers side wheel cant. Just vertically. Not horizontal. There is movement up and down. I checked the inner and outer wheel bearings and they looked good ! Now I'm thinking that it could be the bearings in the knuckle, specificilly the one below the knuckle arm and shims, but it could be the bottom one too. Yes??? No??? Think I would be okay to drive it 60 miles to the Toy store for repair, or just pull it out myself? It doesn't look too complicated, except for the need for the SST to remove the bearings. Thank you for any thoughts you guys might have one this. Anyone venture a cost?

if the wheel bearing are tight...you should see the knuckle move either above or below if the bearing is gone....generally the top one will go first because it has more load on it...tht is what happened to me. when i took mine down the bearing, retainer, etc were gone....so if you need to drive it to get it fixed it should be oky...it will just be hard on the inside of the tire for the trip...but if you are going to replace the knuckle bearings do everything...inner axle seals. check the birfs, wheel bearing, seals...etc....

Its also not hard to do yourself. The only special tool you need is a big socket for the axle nut. the rest can be done with a normal tool set, a BFH, and alot of paper towels. If it is you knuckle bearings then i would plan on rebuilding both sides so that it is all don as it is messy and easier to do all at one time. I did mine in driveway with marlins rebuild kit in about 6 hours with a few breaks in there.
