Not sure if posting here or trailer tech is appropriate, but here it goes....
Need opinions on the use of wheel adaptors.
I have a M416 trailer that was recently purchased. PO agreed to split the difference in distance to make the sale (each drove 5 to 6 hours). Trailer has original axle and was equipped with adaptors to convert the rim to the same as tow vehicle. During transit the adaptor failed and he lost a rim and tire. Fortunately he had the original rims and tires with him (and although the tires were/are in not so great condition) was able to make the trip.
I'd like to do the same, run
adaptors to use same rim/tire combo as my 06 Land Cruiser. Should I be concerned about adaptor failure or was the POs experience so unusual that I should not be concerned?
Thanks for any input.
