Did someone pull my engine? Im doing a PHH check and I see lots of connections marked with blue and green paint. Ive never seen this on any other cars Ive had and this makes me wonder.

Later.

If so, my engine has been out as well. I think it is normal.

Normal and quite sought-after information in the restoration field.

Assembly lines use these marks to identify assemblies and to verify assembly procedures. In the muscle car restoration field great care is excercised to duplicate these markings, to include how sloppy some are, in an effort to present a perfect example.

If you buy many GM vehicles, not only will they provide uniquely sloppy marks like this but they might also hang a bag of bolts in the inner fender so you'll have a nice rattle nobody can find. I used to do railhead audits once in a while as part of my quality tasks at GM and you'd find stuff you could only make up.
