Eventually but initially going to use washers for mockup. Thinking of finding a thin jam nut to clock the revolving part as well. As luck would have it my tool doesn't have a M10 mandrel so off to Amazon-land I go.Are you going to cut down the length of the stainless center bolt on the maxtrax pins?
I'd like to see how this turn out.Eventually but initially going to use washers for mockup. Thinking of finding a thin jam nut to clock the revolving part as well. As luck would have it my tool doesn't have a M10 mandrel so off to Amazon-land I go.
I concur on ease just didn't want bolts/nuts protruding close to roof and perhaps more important ease of removal of retention studs when not needed. I intend to replace them with rounded allen head bolts when not carrying the boards. Installing Riv Nuts is a piece of cake and just think of all the time I'll save not drilling 4 more holes.Drilling 4 holes and installing them as designed was just so easy. I cant imagine jumping through hoops to do it a different way. At most, I'd cut down the bolts, but even that is unnecessary. Looking forward to seeing what you come up with.
This is why forums were invented. The roof rails are adjustable. If you can move them back away from the sun roof that is a plus If you use your sun roof. If it rains the maxtrax will collect water. If you have the sunroof open the first bump or small turn will be like splash mountain inside. They hold more water than you think. lol
