What's that sound? (4 Viewers)

My wife calls me crazy, but I go nuts tracking down sounds in our GX. All I want to hear is that V8 purr!

So what clinks, squeaks, pops, bangs, squeals, clicks, chirps, whines or rattles have you had, and what fixed them? I know many sounds aren't particular to a GX, but some might be and I figured it could be nice to compile some of them. I'll try and keep a running list in this post.

What exactly is the hitch receiver handles? I looked all under there and can't seem to find anything touching or that I could physically move. I have a terrible chirp and squeak sound coming from underneath the stock subwoofer area. Please and thank you

Door rattle passenger side.

Been tracing it for a bit as it only rattled over larger bumps otherwise super quiet.

Ended up being the factory tweeter. Got some gorilla glue gel and fixed it right up. Lol.

Reviving this old thread…

My 2013 Lexus GX (I miss my 100!)

I have a “whirring” sound coming from the front of the motor. I originally believed it to be a worn bearing from the a/c compressor (which I haven’t fully ruled out), but today I was able to track it to what I believe is the radiator/trans cooler area.

Sound is definitely at idle, and not associated to moving (wheels, transmission changes, etc.) but does change when moving slowly and brakes are applied.

Dealer identified it as a heat shield, but I verified today (from this great thread) that none of the heat shields are impacted.

Thoughts?
