So the other night at the meeting, we briefly discussed our forum names...

mud was the first forum I ever joined and had a "presence". I was on the land cruiser email lists before mud, and people went by their real names. I wanted to be witty with "Land Cruiser"... so I chose Land Speeder. I'm not a star wars fan, but I guess I do speed a lot. I am in IT by trade... and I use a completely different name if I ever join those forums. Land Speeder/LandSpeeder is only for offroad/fun...

Why is your name your name?! post up reasons ya'll! errybody has a reason!

Soph year in college, I was trying to come up with an AIM name that wasn't tied to my hometown. Previously I'd been big into mountain biking, and was mphsbikr. Living in B'ham, it didn't really fit. I was trying to come up with something that when googled didn't bring up other folks' stuff. It was just a play on words of exodus, and that was about it. No real "reason" to it. I've stuck with it for, gosh, 11 years. Googling it now pretty much only finds stuff of mine on the interwebz. That can be good and bad I guess. I used to own www.xodeuce.com and had a blog and all that crap. Never did anything with it though.

I also don't use it on social media or work related stuff for that reason.

Netzero gave it to me in the earlier days of the internets so I've kept it.

When I owned my Nissan and was active in the hardbody/frontier community I was tagged BamaPaul due to the number of Paul's from elsewhere and it's stuck since then.

uabericm comes from back in the AOL days circa 1996. Trying to figure out where to go to college, I decided upon UAB, thus UAB Eric M(eyer).

I have been called some form of clank my whole life..
Clarence is just too hard for most folks to grasp..
Then in my late teens I started wheeling and (as most that have wheeled with me know) the bang part kinda came with my wheeling style; (Finesse if you would).

Before I first started wheeling (or had a Toyota) I used to do a lot of backpacking and one of my favorites is the Benton MacKaye Trail.

That makes a lot more sense than how I read it... BM Thiker... wasn't sure what to do with that one.

In my former life, I was a mtn biker as well. my old email address, and AIM was "bikerhagan"
I once had a dude contact me through AIM asking me out. I told him I'm not gay, he then asked why I had my name after "bi".... I fell out laughing. My sister and brother-in-law still laugh about that and will occasionally call me Mr Kerhagan

Scouts gave me moondog which I havnt used since I decided zrheard that UA gave me and I thought it was uber convenient to have the same name ever where. Obviously I changed my name since then but I kept it for years. Mud was the only place that let me change. I would delete the other accounts if I could. Justbecause seemed to fit because that's why I do most everything I do "just because I can".

On an off shoot, when I worked at Double H and Philmont there were a dozen other zacks. So we had big zack little zack Bama zack etc. that's where the old Facebook name came from. It had nothing to do with football.
