Thanks, Pat.

The pump was shot when I bought the truck, didn't work at all. I replaced the failed Holley Blue pump with a similar Holley Sniper EFI pump. The transfer takes to about an hour from what I've seen. I'm not sure if my pump's bad, or if there's some other restriction in the system.

Is there a sock or in-tank filter by chance? Is there a fuel level sending unit still in the tank?

Thanks
-Rob
I honestly cant remember if there is a sock. I made block offs for the other holes. That blue pump moves a lot of fuel (when it works). I am thinking the efi pumps are for higher pressure, but not necessarily higher flow. Non- educated guess there

Thanks!

The pump I picked (80000102) is rated to 140 gph free flow, which I assume is the right number to look at.

@dogfishlake

How do you like that lift? 11k model? Is backing into it a pain?
Sorry, I missed that the question was for me!

It's awesome. Pretty inexpensive and very sturdy. It is an 11k, no problem backing into into it. Depending on what we are working on I can pull in or back in. The 200 is the heaviest thing I have put on it so far and it acts like it is nothing.
I haven't tried my diesel megacab on it yet. Too chicken.

Just to keep some life in the dead of winter...
Post up what you are doing to your cruiser over the winter. Heck, even what you want to do to your Cruiser

Hello neighbor to the north.

My cruiser is coming back from Flagstaff very soon after her body and paint overhaul.

Can't wait to get back to working on it. Once it's back, the small final projects are:
  • Install sound deadening and insulation
  • Install Delta QPM, audio amp and speakers
  • Re-install all the interior that has been taking up space in my house
  • Will probably need to detail the engine bay and undercarriage due to being in a dusty paint environment for a while
  • Maybe, depending on funds, get the fancy clear UV-blocking window film installed all the way around
Excited to have it back as my daily driver once all that is done.

The Megacab will be the real test lol. The price seems pretty reasonable for that lift. I was quoted $6k installed for an import Challenger which seems a like a little more than I want to spend, but that was all I could find in my area without buying online. I think I am going to have resort to a self install and purchase online to save the money.

Buddy got a heated barn down in burnips so we have weekly beer summits. Gotten the lighting on the GX, winch on, light controller in, and drank a good amount of beer.

Beer summits are a good thing

I did my first ever BEB (big end bearings) job on the 1HZ diesel in Jessica's HZJ-73. #3 looked pretty bad because something rode around in there. Fortunately the crank journal looked great. Good peace of mind maintenance for not much money.

I wonder if this is what the TT3.9 liter Tundra motors look like with the debris left in the block from manufacturing- Only a lot worse!

Received front seat covers made by Escape Gear in S. Africa and sold by Equipt. Very high quality material and stitching. From photos they fit tightly. Should warm up to near 60 F this week so I'll probably be swearing loudly as I try to fit these onto the 100 seats.

I moved the red 60 yesterday. Roads still not quite good enough to drive her. Good to see it outside at least

I pulled Olive into the work bay, mainly just to get her out of the way. One thing lead to another, and now we are swapping on the gloss black spare wheels I coated a while back, and fitting the factory soft top frame that I got from @ElviMcCoy . Thanks my friend!

I have a new (used) tub for her, but that will be a ways off so we are fabricating an emergency sill to hold her rear together for another summer. I think the tub swap will be pretty straightforward, but it would be kinda dumb not to refresh the chassis while we are at it. That will add quite a bit of time.

I tore apart a perfectly good 80.

Also deleted the sunroof.

Tearing everything apart for a full glass-out color change paint job.

Patching flare holes
Delete sunroof
Some rust repair
Reseal gutters

It’s also getting fresh carpet, headliner, all door seals and rubber, new windshield, grill and quads, fresh powder coat on the bumpers and sliders, Radius snorkel, sound deadening, etc..,

One heck of a collection you have there! Which one is your favorite Cruiser?
My diesel 60 because of the hours I spent on restoring it or my olive 40 because it just keeps giving and is so dang simple and fun

Very cool. I really want to have an 80 again. I think restoring one would be rewarding.

Someday I would like a near stock appearing 80 series pavement queen with a big turbo 1fz-fe

So @RivMan , what color are you going to on your 80? I have a green CA native 80 that is all apart. I don't love the green and my favorite 80 color is white (the only reason I sold the 80 I had!). That looks like a big job getting all those tight spaces!

Also, how is the sunroof fill in going? I would consider doing that too on mine if it ever happened.

The plan is to go white with the 80. I've looked at a ton of options, and keep coming back to white. It really is the best color for a flare-less 80. This build will be my ultimate 80. A white Poverty Pack-esq build with a big LS and fresh seals.

The sunroof fill is well so far. I cut a sheet of flat 16ga steel to the exact shape of the cutout. It fit with less than 1mm on all sides. I got the whole plate tacked down with ~2" spacing. The flat plate curved really well to match the contours of the roof. Then I started filling in the tacks every 4", doing one half of the roof at a time. After a couple hours of that I took the grinder to it, and ran another tack over any pinhole I found. I may run another bead from the inside, and cap it off with some seam sealer. The roof will need a little body work, but it's hiding under a Bowfin rack, so it probably doesn't have to be perfect.

I left the sunroof sheet metal structure in-place to support / reinforce the roof for now, and to be a heat spreader for welding. I have the two OEM front non-sunroof support crossmembers on order. Once they arrive, I plan to cut out the sunroof bezel and panel bond the stock supports as factory would have. I also have a set of factory non-sunroof headliner bows, and a new headliner on order.

I can't find anyone that's done it the "right" way. I'm hoping everything fits as I'd like it to.
