i just got this cruiser from my uncle. i only now that its a fj60, but i want to know what year is it. i was thinking early 1984 or 85'.

It's an 81-87, but you can tell the exact date from the data VIN tag on the driver's side door jamb and/or on the firewall on the driver's side.

the cruiser is still at my uncles house w/ the title.we went over there to pick him up so i snapped some photos but when we go to pick it up i should know. i just wanted to figure it out so i know what parts to buy

No headlight washer - '81 or '82, Chrome headlight surrounds - '83 or '84, non CV front driveshaft late '85 or newer. As for parts, most are the same for '81 thru '87.

Couldn't it be a FJ62? I thought that the only way to tell between the two was the auto tranny and the square headlights.

yes. the letter at the 10th position show the year.

A for 1980
B for 1981.
