What year did leather seats become an option on the fj?

...or when i see one with leather seats, is it always oem or re-covered?

would like to upgrade my 88 to leather, but want to try and find one that is being parted out before i go to the expense otherwise. (if it was never an option, i guess i can't find one parting out, right?)

We didnt get the factory leather until @87,thats when they also bought in the carbon fibre dash and climate control:D
 
never in the US.......dont think anyplace else either
 
94 was the first year i ever saw leather
 
My first Cruiser was an '88 FJ-62 and the previous owner had redone the interior in leather. It looks and smelled great. Lost that rig in a divorce...:doh:.
 
AATLAS1X sells (I'm pretty sure it's him) leather kits for the 60 series. Or you could always get some leather fronts from another vehicle.
