Here's my question... I just got a hold of a nice rebuilt 2H diesel with a Toyota turbo and a PTO winch set-up for a split case... I have a 65 SWB removable top FJ45 among others. Here's the deal, do i put the diesel in the 45 or in my 73 FJ55? My thinking is I will use the pig more and take advantage of the fuel mileage, but it would be way cool in the pickup.

What do you guys think as far as cool factor and overall value of the 45 if it had the diesel vs. a well done 2F? I'm thinking of a very clean resto on this with just mild lift and superior attention to detail, not so much a wheeling maching.

Thanks for your feedback!

I have a '45 with a 'well done' 2F (IMO) and I always wonder about whether I might have put a diesel in it. I suspect the farther you get from stock, the harder time you'll have one day finding a buyer for it. I say put the diesel in the one you're going to drive the most - the 55.

Without a doubt, a '45 with a diesel would be 'cool' - there's little you can do to a '45 to make it 'not cool'.

Steve
