1988 BJ74 JDM....

The passenger side kick panel has a couple "C" clips that are about two inches in diameter and they sure look like something was stored there. It looks OEM to me.

What went there?

The clips hold a road flare, for use in emergencies. OEM part of most older japanese cars.

Thank you, that makes perfect sense. I have searched through the parts catalog and I was not able to find a listing for the flare, only the clips.

Is there a part number in the body?

I would have guessed beer bottle holder but now that you mention it I guess the flare makes more sense.

I use it as a flashlight holder cause that's what I thought it was for. Works great.
