Here we go; all went smoothly except that the rear rotors needed turning and the pads were toast. Gear lube had gotten in but there was still a lot if grease left. The grease in the bearings was black, but gold colored grease filled the center of the hubs. Been serviced before, IDK? The driver side was a little loose but not bad, however all the bearings looked good.
Yes a brass drift, or in my case a 12 inch cut piece of brass rod stock, works just fine for setting the bearing preload. And I didn't have a fish scale, so I used 7 1/2lb dumbbell and just set it on a stud. It worked well. Here's some photos.
