What to do with this dog?

My oldest son has a scar on his nose from a nip when he was young. Not big, it was a playful nip from a small dog, but it's permanent. A bigger dog with potentially aggressive intent around my kids would make me very nervous.

if I was pretty sure that eventually the dog was going to hurt my kid... I would not wait until I knew for sure

it sucks, and I'd hate to see a good dog put down based solely on my gut feeling, but I'd really hate to have my kids seriously injured by an animal that I knew was a danger to them

Try muzzling him and letting yours kids take the alpha role. If he won't let go of it, lose him.

Have you tried shock "therapy"?

x2. Try the shock collar and give him a zap whenever he's misbehaving. See if that makes a difference.

Not a dog lover at all, so I say take it to the humane society and drop it off. Someone that will take care of it will adopt it.
