Good morning fellows,

I believe there is too much misrepresentation in rebuilt and accidented cars listed in various online/offline sales platforms, hence the reluctance among the buyers to purchase these vehicles.
It is my opinion that if these cars stay on road, provided in reliable condition, these are good for the environment vs scrapping these.

I am wondering if you feel that there is merit in my observations, and is worth solving this problem.
Will you be open to a short conversation that will help me understand the merits of this problem a little bit better?

I am suhaib from the SF Bay area, an engineer and a problem solver.

Thanks
Suhaib

there should be a price cap on generic ass cars. there should obviously be price caps on damaged vehicles.
Insurance getting involved in body and auto wreckers has ruined the market.
everything corporate touches it destroys

For me the issue is resale

If I buy a rebuilt title vehicle from the person who either repaired it, or owned it while it was repaired it's quite easy for them walk me through the repair process. This helps me ensure I know the vehicle is solid.

When I go to sell it, it is now all second hand information and much harder to prove.

Also, most banks will not lend on a rebuilt title. So you must be a cash buyer.

Eventually a Toyota Land Cruiser goes no more
