oh man... I wouldn't let them touch it. @eatSleepWoof just recovered from a terrible experience, along with several others that later found out that the dealer never really "flushed it", but rather maybe only added a liter of fluid.

If you've ever bled brakes, you can bleed/flush AHC.

You'll need 6 liters (should be $16/liter from toyota dealers), and I would use a funnel with long tube vs any kind of hand pump.

I paid for a flush and got one litre also. Make sure they will actually flush it.

I think yours is a one off I doubt this would or has been happening to every owner or there would be a big uproar.

Most people don't know what to look for and trust that the dealer does what they charge for.

fluid from dealer will probably be $21/liter plus 2 shop hours minimum @$150 (5x$21) + (2x$150) = $400+

I would recommend taking before/after pictures of the 4 bleeders and reservoir area, and be very specific that you want all the old fluid replaced with new pink fluid by means of flushing from all 4 corner bleeders. Or better yet, find an Indy shop, or find a buddy with a driveway and buy him beer 🍺

Educate yourself on the procedure and speak with the technician about it prior to leaving.

If they give you a Star Trek look, walk away and find someone competent.

On another note, you can do this job with literally an empty gallon container and watering can to get the fluid into the reservoir. I did thousands worth of dealer maintenance in my high rise apartment parking garage.

Sw Utah

atlanta area Lexus dealerships charge $310 for ahc flush. If you are a Costco member you can get 15 percent off at participating Lexus dealerships.

Yeah guys thanks I’m pretty paranoid about anything the dealer does I plan on ordering the 5 L of automatic height control fluid from The dealership parts department so I can make sure they use the right fluid and set it in the front seat of the car and when I have it done that’s all I’m gonna have them do to the car so they’ll have one mission ahead of them. I will also take pictures of where it needs to be bled before and after.
