i just don't think i can tackle the restore as i intended with my cruiser. :crybaby: i'd love to keep it to restore but don't have enough time and money with kids, wife, job, etc. I'm debating on getting a used/clean FJCruiser or truck. I paid $3K a little over a year ago. Can you guys give me an idea on a fair appraisal if i sell her? Specs are below:

83 FJ60 w/ 2FE
214K miles
4-speed
runs fine
body is prety straight
rust behind rear wheel wells
pretty much all original
new wiper motor
new clutch master cylinder
interior is pretty rough except new dash cover - no carpet and driver's seat looks like it was attacked by a bear
fairly new tires
new cd/mp3 player with new front speakers

TIA,

What you paid or less, probably. No carpet would be a big problem for me personally. Where are you? I've seen that truck somewhere....

Unfortunately the market is down right now, even on cruisers. For me it would depend on how bad the rust is, what shape the frame is in etc. I can live without carpet, because i would hercline the interior, but it will be a turn off for some. Bad driver's seat is a problem (for me, but they are all that way)

I only paid $1250 for mine in similar shape with a few more miles. (I know that is not what you want to hear)

Who did the 2FE conversion?

i'm in San Angelo. I bougt it from a guy outside of Abilene. Think it would help if i herculined the floorboard before selling...which was my plan. i pulled the carpet b/c it was dick-scusting. i looked around for new but didn't really see anything worthwhile.

sounds like mine when i bought it, minus the rust. I paid $3500. I have done a lot of work to mine. If the market was the same as back then, I would put her at 6-7k,(mine) but now mabey 4k. Dont sell it, fix it over time...it's really addictive once you start...it is so bad for me i bought a second so i could drive one while working on the other:steer::hillbilly:

If you Herculined it you will not recoop that expense upon resale and it will just make it harder do get to any clean metal for the mentioned rust repair.

If you can, keep it for a while.

I'm asking $1000 for this 83
runs and drives decent, registered in Cali
everything but the speedo works
the shell if FUGLY rusted real bad
I figure all the running gear is worth a grand
It really is a shame someone let is rust like this, I was driving it around today and it was a pretty good ride.

Re: What she worth??

Now, as for the rig, anything from $1,000-$4,500 depending on how much work is needed overall, the buyer, and the market.

KBB's around $1,250, but the rigs are getting more and more rare. The fact that there might(?) be little or no body work needed, or previously done will dictate what you can get from an enthusiast.

Where are you at, and have you called Johnathan at TLC or Marv at SOR to chat and get some input??

TLC: http://www.tlc4x4.com/

SOR: http://www.sor.com/

The advantage of such a call will give some the opportunity to put the vehicle into the market we're in and let things possibly go better for both the buyer and seller. (IMHO)

**Heck, if it's in good enough shape either of them might just want it.**

* :D BTW...Thank you for filling in w/ the post, your subject line's priceless!!

Be careful to not do anything to it that costs more than a few bucks (besides oil change & tuneup): if you don't stop you'll end up restoring it anyway.

The 2FE is the most interesting part of the whole rig.
