Been playing with OBDFusion and have built a few screens to monitor things. There are tons of things that could be monitored. Here is my main screen with the things I like to monitor. If you run a Scangauge or other OBD2 monitor, what do you keep an eye on?

Here's my dashboard:

Note that the "Gear" icon has a green ring that displays when TC is locked.

I assume your A/T Pan and TC temps are "A/T Temperature 1" and "A/T Temperature 2"? How did you tell which was which? What app are you using?

Yes to A/T Pan and TC temps - Just observe the two temps while driving, the TC temp will rise more quickly and vary more than the Pan temp which will generally be lower and more stable. Using iOS version of OBD Fusion.

BTW, what exactly are you measuring to get "Engine Temp?" And how would that be different from "Coolant Temp?"

TIA

Not sure what the difference is between engine and coolant temp. They were listed as two different PID points. The weren’t reading exactly the same all of the time (though the were when I snapped the pic). I was thinking they might be before and after the tstat. I’ll observe and see.

What is your goal in monitoring? For fun? Heavy trailer towing?
More fun than anything else. I only occasionally tow.

I added the “gear” PID point but I don’t think the green ring is indicating TC lock. It looks like it is just a proportional ring based in gear number. It would just increment up on the arc as the tranny shifted. Maybe I don’t have the right PID point.

I selected the “status of gear position” one.

In order to get the ring to show TC lock up, you have to overlay two gauges. Download the dashboard from TeCKis300 in the thread below and import it into your display to see the example.

DIY Smartphone Scan Gauge - OBD Fusion - https://forum.ih8mud.com/threads/diy-smartphone-scan-gauge-obd-fusion.1269979/

I've added pics from my in-work dash to show the lock up PID and the two stacked gauges with one slid over for visibility. When you stack them concentrically, the ring from the lock up in the background makes a halo around the gear indicator in the foreground.

Thanks, the link isn’t working for me but I think I can make something similar

Weird. It's about halfway down the first page of the forum. Last time stamp 9:47am
I’ve had this happen before where I can’t open a specific thread. I’ll try from my PC later.

Here’s mine. Last time someone tested it only worked on IOS. Details on how to load in the thread listed above.

Link to post where the file OBD Fusion dashboard file is. There are steps on how to load if you don't know how on the 3rd-4th page of the thread.

Still
Playing with it but got the gear and TC lock status added.

This is my current setup, pretty much a copy of what @TeCKis300 shared on another obd fusion thread… I owe so many of y’all beers or burgers for all the tips and tricks, I’ll pay up or share the love one way or the other.

Anyway, I may add a oil pressure reading since the gauge on the cluster isn’t graduated, mainly because I’m curious and I’ve made the swap to 0W30.

I also have @lx200inAR set up but it doesn’t play nice with this old small screen iPhone, it sure is purdy tho.

Once I upgrade my current iPhone I’ll use it to become my dedicated obd monitor and since it’s a iPhone plus I can squeeze more into the screen. This is an extremely useful tool for towing and I tow a fair amount.

I certainly owe a lot of beers to many here too!

If you figure out how to add oil pressure please post up. I don’t see any available PID for that.

Well, that’s a bummer. I haven’t checked yet but I will soon, I do know that year to year there are some differences. I’ll report my findings unless someone wiser than I can opine.

I keep playing with this to see what all I can cram in on 1/2 the Tesla screen and use the other half for NAV. It’s taking me a while to figure out how to change the style details of the gauges but I think I’ve go it now.
