What PS box to replace this box on a 66 ?

Picked up a 1966 FJ45.....since the steering box is upfront like a sag conversion....is a sag the easiest way to go?

do you have pics?

OEM should be behind the wheel exactly like a 40 series.

Dont think its OEM,, but what box is it? And what would be the best PS box to replace it with..

That looks like a sag manual box.

A sag power steering box would fit in there but with some more fabrication. You would have to change the mounting plate, mount a p/s pump and run lines. You would not have to change the steering shaft or steering linkage.

The best is a 4 bolt 4 turn box from a mid to late 60s full body car. 3 bolt 3.5 turn boxes work pretty good too.

What he said.

Depending on how much destructive cutting it takes to get the plate off, you might even be able to reuse it. Just know that it will need to be moved much further forward to accomodate the additional length of the power box.

There are HUNDREDS of threads....WITH PICS.... on the Saginaw conversion.

Take a couple of pics of the steering shaft and you'll get input on whether that can be reused as well.

Best
