I was under the impression that a lot of people run 17” Toyota take-offs from cars like 4Runner and Tacoma but now that I’ve spent a minute researching the topic it seems like none of those wheels are really plug and play? In other words wrong offsets and widths?

Is there any 17” Toyota wheel with a similar offset and width as the stock wheels that you can use?

Criteria:

17X8 (or close to it)
Correct offset (requires no spacers)
Easy and cheap to source

TRD Pro wheels are plug and play. They are very close to 0 offset which works fine on my 80’s. They are 7” wide though which limits the size of the tire . I’m running 285/70/17’s.

Based on other posts here on Mud, I don't believe there is a 17" Toyota rim which is 8" wide (like our original rims) and which has the same offset. Many people run 17" Toyota rims, some run spacers, some do not. I *believe* that both of the options above have slightly less offset, meaning the tire sits slightly more inside relative to the outside/fender edge. Meaning less tire poking out of the side of the wheel well. That could be better or worse depending on your tire size and the look you want.
If I'm mistaken, someone please correct me.
Thanks.

All the new wheels have more back space so while the fit they narrow the stance of the vehicle which plays apart in stability.
You can fix that by adding spacers.
But you will still have 7” wide rims instead of the OEM 8” wide wheels.
IMO not plug and play.

Those look good, did you have to use spacers?
Not yet, have some 1.5's available but I'm enjoying the firewall clearance and rear flare tuck with 37s. I get slight rub on the control arms at full lock but with smaller tires it wouldn't be an issue.

If you want to run center caps, spacers would be needed or figure out a tall cap that would fit. I can run rears with the SF axle but keep that in mind.

For non beadlocks they do have an added feature which the valves being hidden in the spoke material so ripping off a valve should be really difficult. Also can find them for ~$90-100 on ebay as takeoffs from 4runners.

Nice, I removed my flares and don't want the tires sticking out. Probably going with pizza cutters, how wide are your tires?

I just got 5 rims from a 2010 Tacoma (gotta have the matching spare!). No spacers. Can't run center caps in front or rear (if it's a full-float axle), but I like the way they look, and the fact that you can pick them up all day long for cheap. The tires are 265/70r17. 1" body lift. Stock, saggy suspension. No rubbing anywhere.

Running 17" steel rims which I believe are from a FJ Cruiser. PO put them on and I like them. 37s tires. They were on 2" spacers when I got it, which looked pretty cool but caused articulation / clearance problems. Now with 1" spacers all good. I think you could run them without spacers but track will be narrower than stock, as previously mentioned.

If one wanted to add center caps, I wonder if something like these would fit?
